WoW: The Ve’nari files – is the mediator really dead? The puzzle continues!
Ve’nari is a mysterious mediator who offers sanctuary to our heroes in the Maw of WoW: Shadowlands. However, she does not help us out of sheer goodness of heart, but out of sheer self-interest. The help of Ve’nari comes at a price. She asks for Stygia, a magical resource that the mediator trades for all sorts of junk and helpful items.
Ve’nari had lived in the Maw for eons before the first mortal set foot in the gaoler’s realm. While the Maw and the Jailer were a dark myth in the underworld of the Shadowlands, there were some midwayers in Oribos who did not fear Zovaal and his sinister minions.
Ve’nari had managed to survive in the Maw for years without falling into any of the jailer’s myriad traps. The mediator is a mystery in itself. She’s reluctant to share her knowledge and reveals little about her motives. When we first meet, Ve’nari tells us that our relationship is strictly business: we give her what she wants and she gives us what we need to survive in the Maw.

In fact, Ve’nari went to great lengths to conceal her past early in Shadowlands. However, rumors circulated around Oribos that the Vest of Ve’nari was not quite as pure as they would have us believe. She was once a member of the Ve cartel. This group of mediators long ago organized an expedition into the Maw that Ve’nari would lead. However, something went wrong on the trip. The mediator never returned to her cartel in Oribos and instead hid in the Maw. The mediator known as Ve’brax later claimed that Ve’nari had betrayed her colleagues, while the mediator reported exactly the opposite.
Later, Mediator Ta’lora becomes even clearer. In a quiet moment, he tells us an intriguing story: Ve’nari was indeed the leader of the expedition into the Maw, but after finding safe haven in the Maw, she got rid of her fellow cartel members. According to Ta’lora, Ve’nari was a cruel scientist without a conscience. She was willing to sacrifice anything and everything to further her research.
The Escape to Zereth Mortis
One day she managed to jump out of the gorge to Korthia. There, she sifted through the servants’ archives for new information about the Creators. Her goal was clear: Ve’nari wanted to go to Zereth Mortis, whatever the cost! After Zovaal opened the way to the Cradle of Creation, Ve’nari disappeared to an unknown location.

The mediator hoped to escape the long arm of the Ve cartel. At Zereth Mortis Sanctuary, Ve’nari left us a message. In it she informed us of her decision and thanked us for the Stygia we had collected for her in the Maw. Exactly what Ve’nari intended to do with the souldust will forever remain a mystery. Because as we followed their footsteps to the Creation Catalyst, we discovered something terrible.
Ve’nari is dead. Upon examining her remains, we discovered that the mediator died in an explosion while attempting a strange experiment on Stygia. Word of Ve’nari’s death spread quickly. However, some players doubt that the mediator in Zereth Mortis met a quick end.
To unravel the mystery of Ve’nari’s death, you need a hero who can master the art of engineering. Just imagine one Articulated ectoplasm glasses come, put them on and take a closer look at the place where the mediator died. Then you will quickly realize that Ve’nari’s corpse is just a dummy and the traces of her death have been deliberately distributed in the chamber. So was Ve’nari just faking her death?
But why all the fuss? Was Ve’nari just doing this to evade her pursuers? The Midwayers of Ve are not stupid, they will surely see through their faux pas quickly and get back on their heels. Or did she just want to mislead our heroes so she doesn’t have to answer more questions about Stygia and her dubious research?
The fact is that the true Ve’nari has disappeared without a trace for the time being. And who knows, maybe she’ll show up later somewhere else in Tazavesh, or even in Azeroth. Surely the nexus of the blue dragonflight would be an interesting place for Ve’nari. Or what do you think about this thriller? Where did Ven’nari go?
