Stalker 2 has been pushed back to 2023
Earlier this year, development work on Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was put on hold due to the ongoing war. Work on the title resumed in May, but since the release date was set for December 8, 2022, it was quite uncertain whether the game would be released later this year.
Stalker 2 won’t be out until 2023
At this year’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, the company showed a whole lot of new and well-known games, all of which should be released within the next twelve months. Among them are some highly anticipated titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong and Diablo 4. While Stalker 2 didn’t receive an announcement in the actual showcase, those responsible at Xbox shared a picture of the upcoming games at the end of the presentation. As seen here, Stalker 2 is on the right side of the image, along with the games that are slated for release in 2023.
Noisy PC gamer This announcement probably came a little too early, because GSC Game World actually only wanted to officially announce the postponement in the next few days. However, not too many people have probably even noticed that Stalker 2 (buy now €47.99 ) has been postponed, so an official statement from the developers definitely can’t hurt.
We have summarized all announcements of the Xbox Showcase in a separate article for you. As already mentioned, all these titles should be released by June 2023 at the latest. So even if a game hasn’t been given a specific release date, fans will probably have to wait a maximum of twelve months for its release.
