Destiny 2 developer is mad at your fashion statement – if you keep moaning, that’s it
Destiny 2’s fashion magazine “Threads of Light” is a cool idea in itself. It should honor and promote the fashion consciousness of the players. However, that has now backfired. The community finds the developer’s taste in fashion, after only two issues, just hideous.
“Threads of Light” is Destiny 2’s digital fashion magazine. It released its second cover with new looks earlier this week. However, fashion and excellent taste in fashion is no fun for Destiny 2 players. Bungie had to learn that the hard way when the Guardians no longer wanted to share the developer’s fashion tastes.
Destiny 2 players criticize Bungie’s fashion choices: A storm of indignation broke out after the reveal of the latest cover stars. This went so far that not only Bungie directly, but also the featured players personally, Vanquish, Twisty and Dawsonson, felt the full force of the community anger.

Players have long found that Bungie doesn’t always hit the nail on the head when it comes to fashion. There is sure to be some really cool armor in the game, no question about it. But sometimes Bungie has interesting “taste aberrations” where the players wonder what absurd idea led the developer to implement something like that.
Creative freedom meets surrealism: The current Season 15 iron banner armor from Destiny 2, for example, has huge “alien nests” as a feature. And who still remembers the Warlock Owl from the moon? Definitely one of those looks that a Warlock can’t really inspire.

After so much grumbling, Bungie was fed up: After these comments it got more and more impolite and that didn’t go down well with the studio at all. An opinion is an opinion and should be allowed to be expressed. But many of the comments were partly personal hostility towards the winners and disrespectful. Bungie prompts players, “Be better!”
He made it clear that the Destiny 2 community had gone too far. If the community is still so toxic and negative and kills other players for no reason, it would be better to stop working with the fashion magazine.

How was the reaction from the community? The shaker actually made a difference. Many commentators added to their statements or afterwards apologized to the winners for their personal attack. It was disrespectful to forget the time and personal idea of the players behind the looks.
What is the future of Threads of Light? It was certainly a tough statement to want to immediately discontinue the entire concept of the Destiny 2 fashion magazine due to such inappropriate comments. But it’s also understandable that Bungie would be reluctant to pursue a project that has attracted so much criticism. Who wants to enter a competition where winning means being mocked by hundreds of Destiny 2 players?
