Battlefield 2042: Definitely without voice chat at launch

Anyone who has bet on the first-person shooter Battlefield 2042 (from 53,99 at pre-order) to use the integrated voice chat will be disappointed. As community manager Kevin “Totalfps” Johnson from the DICE development studio announced, there will definitely be no voice chat function when the action game is launched.

However, the team is currently working feverishly to deliver the feature “as soon as possible”. However, he couldn’t say exactly when that would be. It may well be that you have to be patient until next year in this regard. As an alternative, Johnson recommends using third-party software such as Discord or the integrated chat programs on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

There are certainly many players who can do without voice chat anyway. But especially in multiplayer modes that require a certain amount of teamwork, such a feature is definitely an advantage, so that you can use it to coordinate better and thus plan more effectively.

Battlefield 2042 will be released on November 19, 2021 for PC and consoles. Owners of the Gold or Ultimate Editions as well as subscribers of EA Play Pro can go into the battles in “Early Access” starting today (November 12th, 2021). As part of the Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a “Play First Trial” is available via EA Play, with which you have ten hours of access to the game.
