Pokémon HOME for Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl is not expected to come out until 2022.

Even though Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl have been available since November 19, 2021, the two editions are not yet compatible with the Pokémon HOME service. So the question remains whether and when the service will be delivered so that you can store your Pokémon safely or complete the National Pokédex more quickly. Nintendo can certainly answer at least one of these two questions.

Pokémon HOME is coming in 2022

Explained on the official site Nintendothat Pokémon HOME won’t appear for the two Switch remakes until 2022. Nintendo has not yet given a more precise date, but it did Pokémon Legends: Arceus should be connected to Pokémon HOME, you can assume that this will only be the case after January 28, 2022.

Why is the service coming later? Unfortunately, Nintendo did not officially make a statement as to why Pokémon HOME should not be linked to the remakes until 2022. Therefore, one can only speculate why the service will come later.

A simple reason could be that Nintendo simply needs more time to link the feature to the new editions. It is possible that Pokémon from other editions could currently cause problems with the game because the Switch versions are technically not yet prepared for Pokémon HOME.

Alternatively, it is conceivable that Nintendo will first ensure that the players play through the two editions without the help of stronger Pokémon in order to get the full experience of the Sinnoh region. With the help of stronger Pokémon from Pokémon HOME, the level of difficulty would be much lower than Nintendo thought and players could quickly get bored.

What is Pokémon HOME? The service was formerly known as Pokémon Bank. Pokémon HOME is a cloud-based app for your smartphone or the Nintendo Switch that requires you to log in with your Nintendo account. Once you’ve done that, you’ll get access to a huge warehouse for your Pokémon from all compatible editions.

Unfortunately, Pokémon HOME won't be available for Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl until 2022.

This allows any Pokémon you caught from other editions to be transferred to Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, this only works with the Pokémon that appear in the game’s National Pokédex.

Conversely, any Pokémon caught from the new editions can be transferred to the Pokémon HOME warehouse. For example, you can keep your captured Shinys safe.
