What changes Grand Theft Auto 6 might bring compared to its predecessors – or whatever, what’s in the next installment of the franchise – there has been a lot of speculation over the past few months. So far, however, Rockstar has stewed its fans. One of the co-founders has now given an assessment. Why only an assessment? Jamie King is no longer with Rockstar. You can find out what speculations he has voiced about the GTA 5 successor here.

Possible change in tone of voice

It’s all about this: Jamie King was in one YouTube video from Killaz was asked about various topics, including the direction for GTA 6. He is one of the four founders of Rockstar, but no longer works for the company. Therefore, he can only make personal assessments, not official statements. Still, King’s inside opinion is interesting.

Possible changes: King speculates that the biggest difference between GTA 6 and the previous titles could be the tone of voice. He believes that the next part of the franchise may become “less edgy and less fun”.

If he is right, the tone of the new game could possibly be based more on Rockstar’s last release Red Dead Redemption 2, which has its humorous sides, but on the whole tells a pretty serious story.

As for the basic formula of the Grand Theft Auto series, King cannot imagine that there will be any major changes. He says the team has perfected the system and is reminiscent of the success of GTA 5 and GTA Online.
