Pokémon Diamond / Pearl: Arceus remains a great mystery, but there is hope

We may have to wait until winter to get hold of Arceus.
We may have to wait until winter to get hold of Arceus.

Probably the most mysterious and rarest Pokémon is Arceus. It is considered the Pokémon god and creator of the universe that was introduced with the fourth generation of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. So far there has been little chance of getting the legendary Pokémon regularly in the games.

Also in the current remakes Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl remains a great mystery to Arceus. But there is a chance that we will get the extremely rare Pokémon.

Arceus as a Mysterious Pokémon

Can Arceus be caught in a diamond / pearl? So far there has been no way to catch Arceus in any Pokémon edition. The Switch remakes are no exception. It is currently not possible to get Arceus into the game in the normal way.

Then why have I seen Arceus with others? There have been a couple of events in the past where it was possible to get Arceus. In total, trainers around the world had four chances to get the rare Pokémon. One of these chances was last the 20th Pokémon Anniversary, which was celebrated in 2016.

What is special about Arceus? In addition to the fact that this is the strongest of all normal Pokémon, Arceus is a flexible Pokémon. It can take any of the 18 types depending on the tablet or Z-crystal. If it does not wear any of the items mentioned, it is of the normal type.

So it’s been over 5 years since players got the opportunity to win Arceus for their team. It is all the more surprising that Arceus is not included in Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl. But there is hope that Arceus will soon find his way to us.

There are such opportunities

The bearer of hope will appear on January 28, 2022 Pokémon Legends: Arceus. As the name of the game suggests, the creator Pokémon Arceus will play a big role in it. In order to promote the title in advance, Game Freak could start a marketing campaign in the coming weeks in which we can receive Arceus.

Alternatively, it could be that we can catch Arceus directly for the first time in Pokémon Legends. Since the Pokédex data for the mysterious Pokémon is Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it should be able to get into the game via the Pokémon Home Service. Thus, the freshly caught Arceus could be transferred directly to the two Switch remakes.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and see if it will even be possible to get Arceus for Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl. Perhaps the Pokédex entries are only for the Arceus specimens that have already been distributed. But it is much more likely that trainers will get another chance to catch the extremely rare Pokémon.

Are you lucky enough to have Arceus? Or are you hoping for another chance to get the mysterious Pokémon?
