CE Timmendorf: Frustration with referee performance in defeat against ECW Sande

Long standing up, the favorites annoyed and yet lost: The CE Timmendorfer Strand had to accept a 2: 5 against table leaders ECW Sande – and still draws a positive conclusion. “We were an equal opponent,” says CET coach Michael “Mitch” Pohl.

In the meantime in the lead

After a goalless first third, the Beach Devils were even 2-1 ahead after two rounds. Felix Dettmer (31st minute) made it 1-0 from a CET point of view, after the interim equalization by Tim Maier, Kenneth Schnabel (40th) scored a 2-1 shortly before the time ran out. In the final third, it took only four minutes for Sands top scorer Dmytro Demianiuk to equalize again. The CET then continued to hold up well – until they fatally two penalties.

In the 50th minute, referee Patrick Umlauf sent Tauno Zobel to the bench for tripping. In the subsequent power play, the former DEL player and ECW newcomer Marian Dejdar scored 3-2. In the 56th minute, Colin Whitt had to fall off the ice because of a hook – and again the ECW uses its power play, Vitalijs Jache scored to make it 4: 2 before Demianiuk scored the final score with an empty net goal.

Pohl: Referee whistled “very one-sided”

“We have to solve one or the other situation even better,” said Pohl after the game. He was still satisfied with the performance of his team – but not with the performance of the referees. “I have little else to complain about with the referees in the league. But against Sande the whistle was very one-sided for the opponent. The 2: 4 was preceded by a clear cross check, which was not punished. “

But Pohl does not want to quarrel about it: “Wipe your mouth, roll up your sleeves, carry on” is the motto with regard to the upcoming away game. On Friday (7.30 p.m.) the Beach Devils will be guest at HSV. This encounter took place on the first day of the match. The CET had significantly more shots on goal, but lost 3-2 against a more efficient team. In the meantime, the Pohl troop ranks fourth in the table, one point and one place ahead of HSV – so the next duel at eye level is pending.
