Gamers say bots make some aspect of New World totally pointless and Amazon is doing too little

Bots are still a problem in New World. Almost every day there are new threads complaining about it. Above all, this should make fishing pointless. What bothers gamers most is that Amazon is doing too little. Because some bots have been reported daily for weeks.

What is the problem? Already on October 5th – almost a week after the release – we reported on fishing bots for the first time on MeinMMO. One of the main reasons they made headlines back then was because gamers killed them in funny ways.

But many players have no longer had that fun. Because the bots have devastating effects on the game:

  • On the one hand, they harm the players who would like to level their crafting skills. Because materials like iron or rare trees are always in the same place and can only be mined by one person. Then you have to wait for the respawn.
  • On the other hand, they harm the general economy. Fishing in particular is arduous for normal players, but thanks to bots there is an abundance of fish. Fishing is therefore not worthwhile on many servers.

That’s why players keep reporting the bots. But it seems that there are seldom bans.

“Bots just won’t be blocked”

What are the players criticizing? The last time on reddit was the user Rheality_ Complained about bots not being banned. In his thread he criticizes the fact that he reported a bot 10 days in a row, but it is still running around carefree. And he is not alone with this criticism.

There are quite a few users in the thread who report that they report bots over several days, but nothing happens. The player Mike W shows such a bot on YouTube and reports it, although he himself knows that it will not do anything, as he emphasizes in the video.

The user GenitalMotors reacts very cynically to the reporting problem in reddit and warns: “The thread creator is still blocked in front of the bots because he spams reports daily.”

Some users also find it strange that although players with enough reports are banned for 24 hours and thus excluded from wars, bots can continue to play unmolested.

In addition, some users explain that although there are bots in Europe, the situation on American servers should be even worse.

Bots now only reach level 30 by collecting

How bad are the bots? The number of bots should fluctuate depending on the server, but there is basically no one who can do completely without bots. According to the reddit user JustDaveInTheLBC, the number is said to have increased again in the last few days (via reddit). And he discovered another interesting detail:

In the past week I’ve seen a huge influx of bots on my server again. And they are at a higher level, all in their 20s and 30s. You are harvesting in full action. Is that also the case on other servers?

I reported the same bot three times in three days because it is getting really annoying to keep competing with bots for materials.

Many bots will have reached this level mainly by collecting materials. Such high levels are particularly impressive with the fishing bots, because progress is slow compared to other collecting professions.

Other players are now also reporting about bots in the outpost storm, a PvP mode at max level 60. However, the bots there are said to have battle scripts with which they could have leveled faster. In the meantime there should also be “townboard bots” that do the relevant tasks in the settlements in order to level up quickly.

What do you think of the bot problem in New World? Have you encountered more bots recently or is it rather quiet on your servers? Feel free to write it in the comments.

Due to the large number of bugs, exploits and bots, it is repeatedly requested that New World should be restarted. But we at MeinMMO strongly oppose it:

No, New World doesn’t need a restart like Final Fantasy XIV did back then
