Titanfall: Sales will be discontinued, but servers will remain online

Respawn Entertainment announced on Twitter that Titanfall (from 3,67€ at buy) will be removed from all digital stores with immediate effect. The shooter from 2014, published on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, is also set to disappear from subscription services such as EA Play: Here, the makers have decided on March 1, 2022. Titanfall’s servers will initially remain online. The developers want to give the remaining fan base of the original the opportunity to play a game in the shooter. In contrast to its successor, Titanfall could only be played with an internet connection. There was no offline content here.

Respawn did not give a reason for the end of the sale in the statement. However, the DDoS attacks on the servers in the past are likely to contribute to why the team no longer wants to sell the shooter in the future. The community attracted attention for a long time because there were repeated problems with the multiplayer. Only after an attack on the Titanfall 2 streamer and the Apex Legends servers did the makers speak up. Apparently the situation has not gotten much better until today. Titanfall has been described on Twitter as an important part of Respawn Entertainment’s DNA. So far, nothing is known about the future of the series. The studio is currently mainly busy with Apex Legends – new characters from the Titanfall universe have recently arrived here. Last updated video: Monarchs Reign game scenes
