Titanfall: The original disappears from all stores and fans mourn
Titanfall 1 disappears from all stores and subscription services. Respawn Entertainment announced this in a tweet. If you got the taste for it through Apex Legends and wanted to explore the origins of the shooter franchise, you’re too late – you can no longer buy the first original Titanfall at all, and with it the cornerstone, the beginning of this shooter universe. The end was in sight, but of course it still makes long-time fans of the series like me sad. At least the servers should stay online until further notice.
Titanfall: Apex Legends creators are removing the original from all stores and subscriptions
What is Titanfall? Titanfall was the first game from Respawn Entertainment, a studio made up of former Call of Duty developers, among others. The pure multiplayer shooter was unique, extremely fast and lived from the mixture of fighting on foot and in the giant mechs called titans.

No longer available: Respawn Entertainment is pulling the plug and completely removing the original Titanfall from sale. You can’t buy it anywhere anymore.
The game should also be removed from all subscription services such as EA Play and the Game Pass, but the servers will remain online for the time being. So, at least in theory, you can still play if you’ve already bought it. How long and reliably the servers will continue to run for this seven-year-old game remains unclear.

This could be the reason: Titanfall 1 and, to a certain extent, Titanfall 2 have been suffering from technical difficulties for months, which have apparently been deliberately caused by hackers or possibly just a single hacker.
Constant DDoS attacks and server problems have made Titanfall almost completely unplayable for a long time. This went so far that other hackers even paralyzed Apex Legends to “save Titanfall”.

However, these problems have probably never been completely under control and this step may now represent the final reaction to it. Many fans have long reproached that EA and Respawn continue to offer an almost unplayable title for sale. This is no longer the case, even if many fans would of course have wished that Titanfall would have been sold on and instead made properly playable again.
Fans mourn the shooter: Hardcore shooter fans all over the world observe a minute’s silence and shed a tear. Perhaps the best multiplayer shooter ever has lost its origins. At least it feels like a bitter loss, but at least the long suffering is over now.

The fact that “Titanfall should remain a part of Respawn Entertainment’s DNA” is of course little consolation for most fans who can’t do anything with Apex Legends. Nonetheless, many continue to hope for Titanfall 3, even if the chances for it are probably rather bad.

Small consolation: Titanfall 2 is at least still around and the player base remains surprisingly stable, at least on the PC. But the sequel also suffers from regular DDoS attacks, hackers and server problems. Perhaps the end is already approaching here.
What do you think about the fact that Titanfall 1 is no longer sold? Do you think the servers will stay online for a long time?
