Will the new activities in Destiny 2 soon reveal Xur’s secret? – We know that so far

On Twitter and Steam today for Destiny 2 further screenshots of the new activities of the 30th anniversary are shown. They reveal exciting details about new locations, the dungeon and weapons. We’ll show you what we found out and the possible connection to Xur.

What was published Bungie published 4 new pictures of the upcoming dungeon and the new 6-player activity. Some new scenes were shown, with a lot of content and information about what to expect in December. Furthermore, the name of the dungeon was also published, with the designation “Suction of Greed”.

New items and secrets about Xur and the treasury

There is a lot to discover in the pictures, as different scenes are shown. At first sight you have the feeling that the place has been showered with loot.

The pictures of the dungeon indicate different areas that have to be crossed. Xur is apparently an important part of this, as it can be seen very often.

Selectable rewards: In the picture of the treasury there are many large white chests that resemble that of the Awakened One. These chests have a yellow / gold hologram, which shows the reward that can be obtained upon opening. It is not known whether you are only allowed to open a chest and need an extra key for it, which you can get after conquering the dungeon.

But since Bungie wants to provide content with the dungeon, it is very unlikely that you can open all the boxes at once. You will most likely have to wait a week until you have every item from the dungeon.

New weapons: In the picture with the 6 guardians, everyone is wearing the new armor ornaments, with new weapons. Some weapons are already known from Destiny 1, others are completely new.

We saw these:

• Empty Gaze – Vanguard Sniper from Destiny 1
• Eyasluna – handgun from Destiny 1
• A claymore sword from Myth
• MA40 Assault Rifle – Halo automatic rifle
• Assault carbine – purple halo rifle

These are only guesses. It could also be that these are other weapons that will only reveal themselves after the release.

Mystical horse: There was once a very similar mystical horse in the Trials of the Nine. This horse is also similar to that seen in the vision of the crow, which the traveler emanated. It is not yet known what role this being plays in the chamber. Further insights into hidden story elements would be possible. However, should that represent the horse from the visions, the players would finally see it again after 2 years.

Xur is present: Xur makes a guest appearance in one of the pictures. There he awaits the six guardians after the 6-player activity to reward them with loot. Thanks to the description in Steam, it becomes clear that this is possibly Xur’s treasury. This is as follows:

Loot the new 3-player dungeon that is reminiscent of the ancient loot-filled caves of the Cosmodrome. Discover a story of abundance and decay as you follow an adventurer who gave up his humanity for treasure.

It would be possible that the previous history of Xur will be resolved and that more details will be given about his condition and possible future actions. So far not much is known about the tentacle face and yet it has been visiting us reliably for years on Friday so that it can supply the guardians with various rarities from the galaxy.
