Halo Infinite: Want to Prepare? These videos will help you understand the cart
On December 8th, Halo Infinite will be the hotly anticipated next installment in Microsoft’s famous Xbox SciFi series. Super soldier Master Chief takes up his weapon again and has to face the exiles on the surface of Zeta Halo who are looking for something on the Blood Fathers construction.
Zeta Halo? Blood fathers? Exiles? Anyone familiar with the series will of course be familiar with these terms and be able to classify them immediately. But there are also many for whom a big question mark hovers over their heads when they are mentioned. And that’s exactly what Halo Infinite makes the entry into the great Halo universe not really easy, but throws you into a conflict without prior knowledge, without giving any form of exposure.
That would be so important with the enormously extensive Halo Lore, with which even fans can get confused every now and then and which goes far beyond the storylines of the games. But you can catch up on what the developers at 343 Industries are missing out on yourself, because you can now find a number of videos that summarize the most important information and basics of the Halo universe. We give you a few recommendations here.
The most important thing in half an hour
If you can bring a little time with you, the video from Sci-Fi Basis is recommended. In just under 26 minutes, the complete story of the Halo universe is summarized here, in which a few elements are missing, but in their entirety they are great for getting started with Halo Infinite. The video appeared last year, which is why the intro now sounds a bit outdated, but the video has by no means lost its relevance:

SameToken did something similar, only in English. Its video is a bit more extensive and at least as worth seeing:

The compact versions
If you prefer more compact summaries, you should watch the successful video by Suzicide. This is a little less detailed, but gives you the most important basics that are also important for understanding the story of Halo Infinite.

About twice as long, but just as successful is the summary of NGN, in which you also learn the most important things about the Halo universe. Here you have to bring 13 minutes of your time.

More Halo tips
These videos are the perfect basics to get you on a good info booth. If you want to dive deeper into the subject – and to really understand everything in the not really trivial lore, I strongly recommend it – there are dozens of other options.
What I recommend: If you are interested in the novels, you should start chronologically and accordingly with “The Battle for Reach” by Eric Nylund. In it you will learn, among other things, where the Master Chief comes from, how he was trained and his beginnings as a Spartan soldier. These are interesting details that the first Halo game (Combat Evolved) completely omits.
I also recommend “Halo – Myth” for an excellent overview of the history of the entire Halo universe. The wonderfully illustrated book tells you, among other things, the complete timeline, when which events from the games take place and arranges many things in an understandable way. Unfortunately, the German version of the book is currently hard to come by, but the English version is available from Amazon.de, among others.
And of course you can also playfully prepare for Halo Infinite: Because with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection one of the best shooter collections is available on the Xbox consoles. It contains almost all Halo first-person shooters (with the exception of Halo 5: Guardians) and contains many playful elements and enemy types that you will also encounter in Halo Infinite. And if you want to get to know the exiles – the enemy faction in Halo Infinite – better – you should play Halo Wars 2. Warning: This is not a shooter, but a real-time strategy game.
