Call of Duty: Vanguard is cheaper this weekend on PlayStation Store.
In the PlayStation Store this weekend, the shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard, which was only released at the beginning of November, is on special offer. The standard version for PS4 is reduced by 25 percent and costs 52.49 euros instead of 69.99 euros. The Cross Gen Edition, which contains both the PS4 and PS5 versions and, as a bonus, five hours of double weapon XP, is 20 percent cheaper and therefore for 63.99 euros instead of 79.99 euros. Varied campaign: In Call of Duty Vanguard we return to WWII. In the campaign we play the members of the Vanguard special unit who are supposed to expose and prevent the dark (and fictional) “Project Phoenix” of the Nazis. Vanguard is particularly convincing due to the nicely implemented scenes and the playful variety: Sometimes we attack anti-tank guns on the Atlantic coast, sometimes we play a sniper in Stalingrad and sometimes we deal with Rommel’s tanks in Africa.

Weak points: But not everything is great in the campaign. The story turned out to be more functional and the enemy AI is sometimes stupid compared to other parts of the series. In addition, the gunplay is very changeable. While the sniper rifle, for example, gives the feeling of great force, some of the other weapons feel rather harmless, not least because the sounds are too flat. After all, we have a wide arsenal of weapons at our disposal, including heavy equipment such as flamethrowers and Panzerschreck.
Fast multiplayer: The multiplayer is a matter of taste. In particular, those for whom a Call of Duty cannot be fast enough should be satisfied. Firstly, the time to kill is again very short; secondly, the compact maps mean that there is practically no idle time. It often only takes a few seconds until we encounter enemies after respawning. But this also means that there is practically no time for tactics and a planned approach.
