Surprise: Stardew Valley is getting more new content after all

Probably the best news of the day: Stardew Valley apparently still gets new content! It actually sounded like Eric Barone aka Concerned Ape only wanted to concentrate on his new game Haunted Chocolatier. According to his latest statements, it was very unlikely that Stardew Valley would continue to receive fresh content. But the latest update is now expressly teasing new content that could come soon. But they should definitely not be as extensive as Update 1.5.

Stardew Valley is now in Game Pass and a new update is here

This is what it’s about: In Stardew Valley you take over your grandfather’s farm and bring it back to normal. You can look after animals, plant vegetables, beekeeping, fishing or all sorts of adventures in the Star Dew Valley as you wish. Including mine work, fighting monsters, starting love affairs, getting married and having children – but always strictly according to the motto everything can, nothing has to.

Now also in the Game Pass: If, for some inexplicable reason, you still haven’t gotten around to playing one of the best, most relaxed games in the world, there’s no better time to do it than now. The last huge update 1.5 brought tons of new content and Stardew Valley is now also available in Xbox Game Pass.

New update 1.5.5 is here: A new small update for Stardew Valley went online on Tuesday night. However, it only brings a few minor Quality of Live improvements, bug fixes and greatly improved modding support on the PC. For example, you can now build or move buildings more easily (even if pets are in the way) and the fertilizer in plant pots does not disappear when harvested (via: Steam).

Update 1.5.6 brings new content: that’s what the fans want

New content teased: In the patch notes it is stated, among other things, that the next update with version number 1.5.6 is already on its way. This is supposed to bring even more and better support for modders, but it “could also contain new content”. But it won’t be anything on the scale of Update 1.5.

Don’t rejoice too soon: Apparently the people behind Stardew Valley want to dampen the anticipation and keep expectations low. Maybe that means that only a few little things like one or two new items or cutscenes are introduced. On the other hand, Update 1.5 was really huge, so more could come and the whole thing is difficult to assess.

Stardew Valley fans! Now is the perfect time for your new farm

What do fans want? Although Stardew Valley leaves little to be desired, there are of course a few things that fans want. The community has already given a lot of thought to future updates and some points would be really cool, useful additions.

  • Post-wedding promotions: How cool would it be if our roommates could help us watering plants, for example, or if there were even more activities such as special data lights and cutscenes? Very cool, exactly!
  • Use Community Center: The community center can be completely restored by us, but is then criminally neglected. Events, activities, new crafting, cutscenes and much more could take place there.
  • More dialogues: If you play Stardew Valley long enough, you will know all the dialogues by heart at some point, they repeat themselves pretty soon. In general, relationships with all residents of the Sternentau Valley could be expanded.
  • Children could grow up: Even if Eric Barone wanted to leave that open, it’s just strange that at a certain point the children stop growing. Even if many, many years go by. You could also help out on the farm or move out at some point.
  • More pets: Why can we only have either a dog or a cat? Both or more of one kind of animal or another (apart from fish) would be really great.

But do not forget: All of this is just a dream at the moment, currently we don’t even know what will come into play and how extensive it will be. Don’t get your hopes too high, the update should bring new content, as I said, but probably rather a few, smaller ones. We are excited.

What else do you wish for new content for Stardew Valley? Fortunately, what are you missing?
