Destiny 2 players now have cool Halo-inspired weapons, but what can they do?

The Destiny 2 Anniversary DLC shows more and more how lovingly Bungie has put it together. In addition to the many small allusions to the developer’s past, the main reason for this is the Halo-inspired weapons. MeinMMO tells you what weapons they are and what they can do.

So that you know what to expect, we briefly present the weapons, which are intended to remind you of Bungie’s famous past, in this overview.

Where do you get the new weapons from?

  • The Halo-inspired weapons can be earned through the free 6-player activity “Trials of Eternity”.
  • You are not tied to any quest. You only have to earn the so-called treasure keys during the activity, with which you can open Xur’s chest.
  • Treasure keys will drop you at the end of a run of the activity.

This is particularly efficient for farming: Higher levels of difficulty allow better prey. You can also pick up daily and weekly forays from the Stardust Horse. They grant you paracausal chunks that you can open. If you have excess coins, you can buy additional treasure keys for 10 Strange Coins.

The swords “half-truths” and “the other half”
(inspired by the Halo particle sword)

A fine blade, but somehow it seems to be missing something …

Weapon description of the Half-truths

These two swords are modeled on the famous particle sword from Halo. In describing the sword “half-truths”, Bungie alludes to the second half. Because only both swords together are visually reminiscent of the famous Halo particle sword.

The swords “half-truths” (arc) and “the other half” (emptiness).

What can the two swords do? The arc sword is called “half-truths”. The emptiness sword is called “The Other Half”. It can drop with the “Frenzy” perk. If you are in combat for a long time, you do more damage, have better handling and an increased reload rate until the fight is over.

Both swords can also drop with the “Kühne Klinge” perk. Thanks to him you get an increased jump distance. The perk is also exclusive. So you can only get it with one of these two swords.

Some players have suggested that it would be cool if the two swords could somehow join together to form the original particle sword. However, this has not been confirmed and is therefore pure speculation and just a wish of the community.

“Backtracked Path” – The first legendary track rifle
(inspired vom Halo Covenant Carbine Beam Rifle)

An early prototype that revealed the potential for future track rifles.

Weapon description of the Traced back way

Destiny 2 players had to wait a long time for the first legendary track rifle. There isn’t really a perfect godroll of the weapon, but with the perk “corkscrew twist” it is quite solid.

Also recommended is “Ursprung”, which the magazine reloads from the reserves if you destroy an opponent’s shield with it. “Tactical battery” grants a small improvement in stability as well as reloading speed and range. The weapon definitely invites you to experiment with it and was certainly not the last legendary track rifle.

The first legendary track rifle in Destiny 2: “Backtracked Path”.

What can the weapon do? Like any other tracking rifle, it shoots a laser-like beam of solar energy. In addition, the track rifle has a 1000 rate of fire and 100 target aid. The rounded handle makes it reliable and sturdy.

So far there have only been exotic track rifles in Destiny 2:

“BXR-55-STREITER” pulse rifle
(inspired from the Halo MA40 assault rifle)

A coveted piece from a bygone era.

Weapon description of the BXR-55 ARMOR

The former Halo players will certainly remember the effective burst fire of this weapon, which was excellent for riveting “kamikaze grunts”.

The “BXR-55-STREITER” pulse rifle in Destiny 2.

What can the weapon do? The pulse rifle has a “Legacy IG-55 shape”. This is a custom-made weapon shape with drastically increased precision, stability and accuracy when firing from the hip. It also has a 450 rate of fire and deals solar damage. The zoom could also be called “sniper zoom”.

Furthermore, the exclusive legendary perk “BX-Rounds” only rolls on this pulse rifle. If you hit opponents with melee skills, it will significantly increase handling and damage. However, this effect is limited and expires after a short period of time or after the next shot.

The exotic pistol “trailblazer”
(inspired von the Halo M6 Magnum Pistol)

A new chapter for an old legend.

Weapon description of the trailblazers

The Trailblazer pistol is the only exotic weapon among Halo-inspired weapons. It is a kinetic weapon with a rate of fire of 200 and requires special ammunition.

You can get the exo-pistol “Trailblazer” via the quest “Magnum Opus”.

What can the weapon do? Her exotic perk “emergency braking” creates oversized heavy-caliber long-range projectiles. It can shoot fully automatically and with an increased rate of fire. It deals increased precision damage to enemies without a shield. In addition, the perk “Hold back” ensures that the recoil of the weapon is reduced when you tap the trigger. This also increases the precision.

With the catalyst and its perk “The Rock” you can even create one of the original Halo splinter grenades in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2: So you create the quest “Magnum Opus” for the exotic pistol “Trailblazer”

These four weapons aren’t the only things players can pick up in Destiny 2 right now, however. There is the quest “All wolves fly high” for the iconic exotic rocket launcher “Gjallarhorn”. In addition, the quest “Magnum Opus” for the exotic pistol “Trailblazer” presented here and in the Grand Master Dungeon “Suction of Greed” you can earn master armor that has an extra artifact mod slot.

How successful do you personally like the Halo-inspired arsenal in Destiny 2? Have you already discovered them all? Which weapon do you think has the greatest potential to become a player’s favorite?
