Dead by Daylight has a new, absurd feature: walking snowmen

It’s also like Christmas in the horror game Dead by Daylight. We reveal which fancy bonuses you can grab.

A special winter event is currently taking place in Dead by Daylight. That even brings new gameplay and tons of rewards. Part of it is for logging in every day – the rest through small challenges in which you even have to interact with snowmen. We have all the information for you.

What kind of event is that? Whoever logs into Dead by Daylight is greeted by a snowy screen. The “Bone Chill” event is live from December 9th to December 23rd and brings numerous unlockable cosmetics and even new gameplay.

On each map you can now discover a number of snowmen with whom special interactions are possible. Survivors can climb into the snowmen and hide in them – much like in a closet. At the same time, however, they can also steer the snowman slowly and move around in this way.

Killers, on the other hand, can quickly smash the snowmen and thus destroy the survivor’s hiding place.

What do you have to do for rewards? If you carry out actions with a snowman, there is a special reward at the end of the match, namely one of the event cosmetics. You can only earn one cosmetic per match.

Valid promotions for cosmetics are:

  • As a survivor, flit into a snowman to avoid a blow from the killer.
  • As a killer, smash a snowman while a survivor is inside.
  • Escape through the exit gate as a survivor with a snowman.

If you meet at least one of these criteria by the end of the round, then one of the cosmetics awaits at the end of the match, which you can see in the video above.

This is what you can do for logging in: Throughout December – and also into January – there is a reward just for logging into Dead by Daylight every day. That can be a nice sum of blood points, iridescent shards or even progress for the current crack, which then unlocks further cosmetics.

Even if you don’t have that much time to play, it is worth logging in every day to take advantage of the rewards.

Despite the event there are problems: In the Dead by Daylight community, the mood is currently rather frosty. Long waiting times for survivors are becoming more and more of a problem as the killer players lose their interest. The new perks in particular have contributed to the fact that many killers are only frustrated, put the game aside or switch to the survivors’ side themselves. Almost every day there are new threads about the fact that being a killer means too much stress and you often feel bad after playing – also because some of the survivors behave toxic. This is criticism that comes up every few months in Dead by Daylight.

Have you already claimed the rewards from the Dead by Daylight Christmas event? Or can the horror game not inspire you at all in its current state?
