Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hour Today with Magmar and XP Bonus

In Pokémon GO, the spotlight hour with Magmar starts today, December 14th. There is also a bonus and the chance to win shinys. We’ll show you the start time, the Shinys and whether the event is worth it.

What kind of event is it about? Today, December 14, 2021, there will be another spotlight hour for the trainers in Pokémon GO. The spotlight hour runs once a week and rotates with monsters that are then in focus. During the event, you will meet the relevant Pokémon almost anywhere in the wild.

Today’s spotlight hour brings the Fire Pokémon Magmar into the spotlight. It is from the first generation. We’ll show you everything you need to know here.

Spotlight Lesson with Magmar – Launch, Bonuses and Shiny

When is the start? As usual, the spotlight hour starts at 6:00 p.m. today and is active for one hour. You can benefit from the active bonuses and spawns until 7:00 p.m. After that, everything returns to normal.

What bonuses are there? Developing Pokémon gives you double the amount of XP during the Spotlight Hour. So if you have saved a few developments, you can start them during the event and get additional experience points for it.

You will also find magmar spawns all over the wild during the event. If you can’t get enough of it, you light a smoke. This will also mainly attract magmar.

Can you catch Shiny Magmar? Yes, Shiny Magmar has been in the game for a long time. In the following graphic, we show you what the Shiny family around Magmar looks like in Pokémon GO.

Is it worth taking the spotlight lesson with Magmar?

This is how strong it is: Let us consider Magmar and its further development, Magbrant. Neither are particularly strong attackers in Pokémon GO. As a fire attacker, Magbrant is still “okay” in raids, but has much stronger competition with Reshiram, Skelebra and Heatran.

In coach fights, Magbrant can be completely disregarded. So just because of the strength of the Pokémon, we can’t recommend the spotlight lesson today.

The increased XP for developing Pokémon is interesting for trainers at the lower levels.

Use the spotlight lesson today, especially if you still need sweets.
