Rainbow Six Siege: Super serious shooter brings fun snowball fights for the holidays

Holiday lights, snowmen and decorated fir trees – things like that are not really associated with the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. But that’s exactly what the new winter event is all about.

What kind of event is that? The new winter event is called “Snow Brawl” and turns the world of Rainbow Six Siege into a wintry battlefield.

However, no rifles, pistols or booby traps are used here, as they are otherwise known from the multiplayer battles of the shooter. No, in the “Snow Brawl” the weapons are: snowballs and snow throwers.

When does Snow Brawl run? Snow Brawl is available starting today, December 14th through January 4th. So you have three weeks to properly soap your opponents with a good pack of snow.

Two teams duel in the rainbow snowball fight

This is how Snow Brawl works: You can choose from two different groups:

  • On the one hand there is the offensive “Orange Blizzards”, consisting of winter variants of the operators Ash, Blackbeard, Buck, Montagne and Osa.
  • On the other hand are the defensive “Blue Blades” with Castle, Frost, Rook, Vigil and the newest operator Thorn.

These teams then meet on the snowfield in a capture the flag mode. The rules are simple: grab the flag from the enemy base and bring it to your own to earn points.

The whole thing looks like a casual, fun affair. You can take a closer look at that here in the trailer:

If you want to prevent your enemies from transporting the flag away, a targeted snowball in the face is suitable. It takes three hits to knock out opponents and send them back to respawn.

Whoever has the most points at the end wins.

There are the following boosts on the card:

  • Running speed
  • Feuerrate
  • Snow blow ammunition
  • Bless you

What else does the event offer? In addition to the snowball fight, you can also get winter cosmetics – either by completing certain challenges, or by using R6 credits or reputation.

How do you like the new event? Can you get excited about throwing a snowball? Tell us in the comments!

Rainbow Six Siege is now a few years old. But MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus says: A successor is still not needed.
