What is the problem? Many users complain about the poor performance of Battlefield 2042, and many have powerful hardware. The developers are already working on it and want to fix the biggest problems of Battlefield 2042, but until then many users would like their situation to be improved.

Now a user on reddit has explained how you can noticeably improve your performance in Battlefield 2042 when you play on the PC. MeinMMO will introduce you to the trick and explain how it works. With this trick you can get some FPS out of your game, depending on the setting and system, but there is no guarantee.

Improve FPS in Battlefield 2042 – set priorities and turn off overlays

What kind of trick is that? A user had presented the trick in the subreddit of Battlefield 2042 (via reddit.com). He himself plays with a GeForce RTX 3080 and had a maximum of 50 to 60 FPS with high graphics settings.

This is the trick: You go to the task manager and sort all running tasks. Then you look for the Nvidia programs that are active. Right-click on these tasks and set the priority to “High”.

As a further step, it is recommended to switch off all game overlays. These include Steam, Origin, Discord and all programs that offer you to display an overlay in the game. Because these overlays can eat up a lot of FPS – especially if you play Battlefield 2042 on Steam and then have the Origin system running in addition to the Steam overlay. You deactivate the overlays as follows:

• Steam: Settings => In the game => Uncheck “Activate Steam Overlay in the game”
• Origin: Application settings => More => Origin in the game => Set the slider for “Activate Origin in the game” to 0
• Discord: User settings => Game overlay => Slider for “Activate in-game overlay.” set to off

How well does the trick work? We at MeinMMO checked the trick, but the trick only partially worked for us. But this is also due to the fact that we already have different hardware for playing in the team and the circumstances are difficult to reproduce.

So it depends on which hardware you are currently using. Your processor, your graphics card and the RAM play a role. Some users on reddit also criticize that the trick is very cumbersome:
