Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Technical problems with the PC version of Intergrade

Final Fantasy 7 Remake (ab 40,99€ at Buy) Intergrade has been available for PC gamers for a few days. In contrast to the version for the PlayStation 5, however, you are confronted with some technical problems on the computer, which slow down the fun of the game again and again.

For example, John Linneman of tech analyst Digital Foundry called the PC port “awful”. The title only has rudimentary graphics settings – for example, it is not possible to deactivate the dynamic resolution. The modding scene has already found a remedy for this, but many players simply expect more with a price tag of 80 euros.

In addition to the lack of graphics options, the game does not run particularly well on many machines. Users on Twitter complain about annoying stutters and other problems. Digital Foundrys Alexander Battaglia, for example, had to struggle with stuttering even though he was using an RTX 3090.
As PC Gamer reported, jerks mainly occur in hub areas with a large number of NPCs.

However, there are also tips on how to combat the frame rate problems: You should play the remake in DirectX 11 mode. All you have to do is call up the settings in the Epic Games Store, select Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and enter “-dx11” for “Additional command line parameters” – however, this deactivates HDR. Accordingly, there is currently only patience until Square Enix delivers a patch that addresses the problems.
