Assassin’s Creed: Origins could get a 60 FPS patch for PS5 & Xbox Series X / S
Explore Alexandria and the Egyptian pyramids at 60 FPS – that could be possible in the future with Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Since the action adventure took us to the Nile in 2017, two more offshoots have appeared with Odyssey and Valhalla. But now Ubisoft would like to check the possibility of a 60 FPS patch for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. We’ll tell you more about it.
Sexism Issues at Ubisoft: The French developer and publisher has been accused of having a toxic corporate culture since July 2020. Including far-reaching sexism problems, misogyny and discrimination, which should be deeply anchored in the company. Although Ubisoft has already drawn the necessary steps, for example employees at management level have been exchanged and the allegations have been openly commented on, many employees in the company do not consider these measures to be sufficient.
60 FPS patch is “checked”
It’s all about this: For many console fans, higher frame rates are among the highlights of the current generation – i.e. PS5 and Xbox Series X. That is why some PS4 and Xbox One games receive patches afterwards that allow us to experience them on current consoles in 60 FPS. That could now also await us with Assassin’s Creed: Origins, the offshoot of the series that leads us to Egypt.
Why only “could”? In a tweet on the official Assassin’s Creed account it was only confirmed that a 60 FPS patch for the game was being “checked”. To be precise, the tweet reads:
We’re also looking into 60 FPS support for Assassin’s Creed: Origins, so stay tuned!

The comment was added to a tweet on Assassin’s Creed Tag in which the team thanks the community. There is currently no more information. So we don’t know yet when the patch might reach us. The chances for the patch are not bad, after all, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey has already received the same 60 FPS treatment.
More from the Assassin’s Creed universe:
Currently only 30 FPS on consoles: Origins’ frame rate is currently limited to 30 on all consoles, while PC fans enjoy the benefit of an unlimited frame rate. For the current offshoot of the AC series, Valhalla, there has been an update since last summer that enables 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.
Would you like to experience Origins again with 60 FPS or maybe you haven’t even started the adventure and this would give you a good occasion?
