Pokémon Diamond / Pearl fan catches Shiny after 10,140 attempts and 167 hours live in the stream

If you want to catch Shinys in Pokémon, you have to have perseverance.

With a new Pokémon game, of course, the hunt for the Shinys begins again. Streams with Pokémon Radiant Diamond & Shining Pearl also revolve primarily around the rare variants, and those affected sometimes sit hours and days in the games. Influencer Calebhart42 goes one step further.

A week of shiny hunting in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl

When Calebhart42 started his stream, he hardly expected that he would spend almost a whole week trying to get a single Shiny in the remasters of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It took him 10,140 attempts and 167 hours for the dazzling Rayquaza to appear on the screen.

As you can see in the video below, he was about to restart the game and almost missed the dazzling Pokémon. When he realizes that it finally worked, Calebhart42 is happy, as if he had received an N64 for Christmas:

Rayquaza was not originally included in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, but comes from the third generation, i.e. the ruby, sapphire and emerald editions. The legendary Pokémon even adorns the box of the emerald edition. In the remasters of Diamond and Pearl, there are a number of legendary Pokémon that did not appear in the original. Shinys are extremely rare: The more than 10,000 attempts of the streamer are not really unusual, because the probability of hitting a Shiny is 1 in 4096. If it is to be a legendary Pokémon, you have to save before the encounter and restart the game again and again until it shows up in its alternate version at some point. However, not everyone has a week for such an endeavor.
