Pokémon GO: Costume spoils the Petznief development – “It should be possible to develop”

In Pokémon GO, trainers have just bagged numerous costumed polar bear monsters. But the costume has a big disadvantage and is causing a discussion among the Pokémon GO trainers.

What’s going on in Pokémon GO? On Tuesday evening, December 28th, there was a spotlight hour as usual. This time, the focus was on the polar bear monster Petznief, which coaches were able to catch in large quantities for 60 minutes.

The special thing about it: Due to the current Christmas event, you could only catch the little polar bear with a little Christmas bow on your head.

But while the costume certainly looks cute, it causes displeasure among players. Because: A development of the Pokémon is impossible due to the costume.

Trainers are looking for an alternative: “You should just give us a ‘remove bow option'”

That’s the problem: In the Pokémon GO subreddit, the current top post (over 1,500 upvotes and more than 300 comments at the time of this article) deals with the topic of “costumed Pokémon”.

Here user “StrictTrainer962” comments that it is just impossible to develop the Petznief from the limelight hour to Siberio just because of a bow: “Even the whole limelight hour is filled with bow Petznief. Why Niantic can’t just put a ribbon on Siberio to make a Petznief-Fang Cubchoo really useful, I’ll never understand ”(via reddit).

Some players agree with this criticism – because the problem has not only existed since Petznief. There have been costumed Pokémon in the past too, many of which could not be developed any further.

This applies, for example, to the currently emerging scarf versions of Seemops, but also to older examples such as different Pikachu variants or hat-wearing monsters such as Charmander, Nidorino, Chelast and many more.

A discussion has developed in the subreddit in which many trainers are looking for a new solution. Because apparently it is not too popular that you cannot develop costumed Pokémon with good values ​​or even happily caught Shinys.

• “Niantic should just let us evolve normally costumed Pokémon with a warning like, ‘Are you sure? Pokémon will lose its costume as it evolves, ‘”suggests user cdanigc (via reddit) before.

In addition, some players think that the development could simply get the costume. This has already worked in the past, for example with the sunglasses Schiggy or some Pikachu versions, which then developed into a costumed Raichu.
