Pokémon GO: Johto Tour comes in gold and silver editions – you get these monsters

The Johto Tour will take place in Pokémon GO on February 26, 2022. With this you can choose between two different editions that bring you different monsters. We at MeinMMO took a look at what to expect.

What kind of event is it about? Analogous to the Kanto Tour, which took place in Pokémon GO at the beginning of 2021, there will be another such event on February 26, 2022: The Pokémon GO Tour: Johto. During the event you will meet the monsters of the Johto region and for the first time all Shinys of the 2nd generation are available.

Before the event starts, you have to buy a ticket in the in-game shop. As with the Kanto Tour, the Johto Tour will again have two different editions, between which you will have to choose. We’ll show you what content you can expect.

What editions are there for the Johto Tour?

Where can I get the event ticket? You can already buy the event ticket for the Johto Tour in the Pokémon GO in-game shop. You can find it there under the heading “Worldwide Events”. It costs just under 12 euros. Before the event starts in February, you have to choose your respective edition. You can choose between gold and silver.

How can I choose the edition? If you have secured the paid ticket for the Johto Tour, Niantic offers you the opportunity to choose between the gold and silver edition a few days before the start of the event.

Depending on which edition you choose, you will encounter different Pokémon and Shinys during the event. However, think carefully about your choice in advance, because this decision is binding and cannot be changed afterwards.

For the Kanto tour, you were able to save your selection in your item storage using the event ticket. It can be assumed that this will also be the case with the Johto Tour. As soon as the selection of the edition of the ticket has been approved by Niantic, you will of course find out here on MeinMMO.

Monster for the Johto tour divided into gold and silver

Endive, Feurigel, Karnimani and Hoppspross will be available in both editions during the event. For this reason we have highlighted them for you in the picture.

What should you watch out for? At the event, everything revolves primarily around the topic of Shinys. When making your selection, you should therefore primarily consider which monsters are still missing in their dazzling form.

You can also talk to friends about which Pokémon they are still missing in order to be able to swap them afterwards. In addition, it makes sense if you choose different editions from your circle of friends so that you can cover all Pokémon.

According to Niantic, it is necessary that you trade certain monsters in order to complete the collector’s challenge (via pokemongolive.com). So it is also a good idea if you choose different editions.

How do you find the spawns of the respective editions? Which color will you choose? Or do you completely forego buying tickets? Feel free to write us your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments and exchange ideas with other trainers.

There is still a lot to do in Pokémon GO before the Johto Tour. We’ll show you which bonuses await you on Community Day in January with Seemops.
