Twitch streamer licks microphones, makes € 1.3 million a month – that’s how parents think

Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is a controversial figure on the Twitch platform. She is known, for example, for appearing barely dressed and licking microphones as part of ASMR streams. Now she explains in a big interview that she earns about 1.3 million euros a month and explains how her conservative parents found it when she started her streams.

What is Amouranth doing on Twitch? In a large video interview on YouTube with VICE magazine, Amouranth describes herself as a “variety streamer”.

Typically, “variety” streamers on Twitch refer to people playing different games – Amouranth defines the term as something else. She sees herself as a variety streamer because she pursues a variety of activities in her sometimes 12-hour streams:

• So she sometimes sits in a warm pool in her living room in a bathing suit (hot tub streams)
• Then she makes ASMR streams, during which she licks microphones, among other things – the noises that are created are perceived by some people as pleasant and relaxing. They trigger certain physical reactions.
• Sometimes you can just watch her sleep
• She also plays Mario Kart every now and then
• She dances to “Let’s Dance” video games – she adapts the style of her shoes to the songs. Some songs are clearly made for high-heeled shoes, others are not.

There is also really weird stuff that she has already done with a bird or horse mask on her head, but she does not list that as one of her preferred activities in the interview, although the video includes extensive pictures of the bird escapades.

Your existence as an influencer does not only include actually streaming, it is an overall work of art.

Amouranth therefore uses a variety of social media platforms, in addition to the established mainstream platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Instagram or Facebook, there are also platforms such as Onlyfans, Patreon and Fansly, on which adult photos of Amouranth can be seen which are hidden behind a payment barrier.

1.3 million euros a month – and secretly chats while at work

How much is she earning right now? According to current statements, she has earned 1.5 million US dollars a month in the last few months – that’s about 1.3 million euros.

She also appeared on the leaked list of top earners on Twitch. By the way, she is one of only 3 women in the top 100, albeit the one with the best earnings.

This is how Amouranth grew up: In the video interview with Vice, Amouranth explains that her parents are initially not very enthusiastic about what she does for a living. They would also know their house, but not the room in which their hot tub pool is located.

She spent most of her childhood in front of the television, and her parents worked a lot. Amouranth says she found her childhood relatively lonely, without many friends, spending a lot of time playing video games. Amouranth says she often felt alone and dissatisfied at the time.

She also developed her inclination for costumes and changing clothes during this time, which was an opportunity for her to slip into new roles and escape everyday life. She also spent a lot of time with animals, first with the neighbors’ dogs, then with her own dog.

Today, her love for animals is what drives her to put so much energy into her Twitch career. She now wants to earn as much money as possible so that she can look after animals later.

What do their parents say about their work on Twitch?

She says:

My parents are very conservative. I can’t remember what exactly they told me when I started [zu streamen]. You weren’t very supportive of me at first. But when I showed my balance they kind of felt a lot better. It’s really weird what that does to people.

This is behind it: In the interview, Amouranth cultivates her image of a cool, calculating business woman who plays the “shameless e-girl” for her mostly male viewers in order to earn a lot of money with which she will then do something useful and very good.

From her point of view, she actually underestimates everyone, while she acts on a level that is significantly higher than what her online presence suggests. It is obviously important to her to emphasize “I am underestimated by everyone” – “I am not what you think I am”.

In the interview, she also says that everything can only be done now when she is still young and has a lot of energy. She won’t do that later in life. Then she wants to do everything possible to save dogs.

At the moment she is also motivated by the idea that in her current situation she earns so much money to save dogs later. She says: If she streams for an hour today, that could bring in so much that she can later save 50 dogs. Amouranth says her love for animals comes from the experience that one of her dogs – a mixed breed of husky and German shepherd – got sick.
