Pokémon GO: The new EP special research is only available for pre-orderers – it’s inside

In Pokémon GO there is a new limited research in January 2022. However, only those trainers who pre-order tickets for the Johto Tour can participate. We’ll show you all of the research tasks and rewards. So you can see whether it is worth pre-ordering.

What kind of research is this? It is the “Season of Origin: EP Challenge”. This is temporary research. You can only take part if you have pre-ordered a ticket for the “Pokémon GO Tour: Johto”. You can find the tickets in the Pokémon GO shop for around 12 euros.

Until when can I pre-order? You must have bought the Johto ticket by Monday, January 10th. Only then is it considered to be a pre-order.

Season of Origin XP challenge

Where does the information come from? The website Leekduck collected the tasks and rewards. They come from trainers who have already completed the tasks and brought them together in the Pokémon GO community.

The task is to collect a total of 240,000 experience points (XP). There are individual milestones that reward you with Pokémon and items. The big reward for the 240,000 XP is a Viscora hat.

What the players say: The new research is hotly debated in the community. Trainers are unhappy that you have to pre-order this content. “Plus the rewards are pretty disappointing,” notes OmMyGoth1 reddit.

Others wonder why one keeps getting ninjatom rewards.
