Final Fantasy 16 appears for the PS5 and should be a little darker again.

Final Fantasy 16 is a long time coming. Although Square Enix wanted to present news about the JRPG in 2021, a major reveal of the PS5 game has been delayed until this year. Until then, we’ll use the time to take a closer look at what information is already available about the next big Final Fantasy game. There are, for example, the three main characters Jill, Clive and Joshua, whom we would like to introduce to you in more detail here.

Jill Warrick

Jill Warrick comes from the so-called fallen Northern Territories. She was taken from there at a young age in order to secure peace between the two kingdoms as a ward in Rosaria. Thanks to the efforts of the Archduke, Jill was raised like a daughter of the noble court and Rosfield household.

Accordingly, she has become something of a sister to Joshua and Clive. Here on Twitter there is also new concept art that probably shows Jill.

Joshua Rosfield

Joshua Rosfield is a dominant and accordingly blessed with the gift of being able to conjure up and influence the Eikon Phoenix. Joshua is the younger of the two sons of the Archduke of Rosaria and a delicate, rather fearful bookworm. He worships his big brother and treats all of his father’s subordinates with the same generosity.

Clive Rosfield

Clive Rosfield is the five years older brother of Joshua. Though expected of him, he wasn’t the one to awaken to the firebird’s dominant. Instead, he devotes his life to fighting and using the sword – with great success. At the tender age of 15, Clive is chosen to be the guardian of the Phoenix and can therefore use at least part of its flames. The story of Final Fantasy 16 also revolves around the mysterious dark Eikon Ifrit, who sends Clive on a campaign of revenge.

What we already know about Final Fantasy 16

The PS5-exclusive JRPG Final Fantasy 16 represents the next big main part of the series. Because the coronavirus pandemic is also causing problems for publisher and developer Square Enix, we have to wait a little longer until we see more tangible information or even real gameplay to get.

In Final Fantasy 16, the Eikons are in a very special way with people who can control the mighty mythical creatures and are therefore called Dominants. You are born with these abilities and dealing with eikons and dominants differs greatly from nation to nation.

Release – When is Final Fantasy 16 finally coming? Unfortunately, that’s still in the stars at the moment. With a bit of luck, the big JRPG will appear this year, but that’s not for sure. After all, the next big reveal for Final Fantasy 16 was recently postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. That could mean that the role play itself does the same.
