Genshin Impact: This is how you complete the quest “The River of Still Waters”

With the 2.4 update of Genshin Impact, the new Enkanomiya area came into play. To unlock it, you have to complete a quest beforehand. In this guide, we’ll tell you what to do.

These are the prerequisites: For this quest you don’t have to run to an NPC first, it is automatically activated and appears in your log, provided you have met the following conditions:

• You must be at least adventure level 30
• Chapter II, Act 3 “Omnipresence among the people” of the archons’ orders must be completed
• The world mission “The Moonlit Depth” on Watatsumi Island must be completed

The quest “The River of Still Water” is the follow-up to “The Moonlit Depth” and will once again lead you to Watatsumi to see the shrine maid Tsuyuko.

This is how you solve the quest: You can find Tsuyuko at the Sangonomiya Shrine. After the first conversation, she will move to the southeast and stand by the altar. For the next step in the quest, you’ll need to find two key patterns that are written on your map.

You shouldn’t have any problems with the pattern in the north, it’s easy to find. It is guarded by three ruin machines, but you don’t have to fight them if you don’t want to. It is enough if you click on the key pattern.

The eastern pattern is a bit crisper. It is located in an underwater cave and the entrance to the cave is not exactly on the marker on the map.

Instead, you have to walk a little to the left of it along the large waterfall. Teleport to Watatsumi teleportation point, go north and slide down at the point marked below. The entrance to the cave is halfway down.

Three Fatui opponents await you inside, but they are also not required. You can click on the pattern again and look for the distance.

So it goes on: As soon as you have collected both patterns, you have to activate two altars. They are also listed on your map and are easy to find.

In front of the altars you will find symbols on the rocks that you can interact with. Click on each of them to activate the altars.

Then you can return to the Sangonomiya Shrine and talk to Tsuyuko again. She will perform a ritual and open the portal to Enkanomiya that will appear right next to you in the great vortex.

Jump in and you land in the new area that you can explore extensively. The reward for completing the quest is:

• 30x primary rock
• 20,000 Mora
• 2x a hero’s wisdom
• Achievement “How Many Leagues Under the Sea?”
