Diablo 2: Resurrected – 2 builds for the amazon, explained quickly and easily

Among the 7 classes of Diablo 2: Resurrected, the Amazon stands out for its versatility. MeinMMO introduces you to 2 builds that exploit the full strength of the wild warrior.

What kind of builds are these? For many fans, the Amazon is the best choice when it comes to doing damage. Especially in groups, she is therefore often taken along as a pure DPS character.

Among the 7 classes of Diablo 2: Resurrected, it stands out because it can deal both physical and magical damage. That makes them extremely versatile. 2 builds are particularly good:

In the following sections we will show you the advantages and disadvantages of the individual builds and then explain which skills you need and how you should distribute your attributes. We also give you tips for your equipment and the play style of the builds.

Bowazon – glass cannon with area damage

Pro

  • the best physical area damage (AoE) in the game
  • relatively safe, as it is designed for a distance
  • extremely easy to play, only 2 important skills
Against

  • extremely fragile and easy to kill
  • low physical damage per target
  • quite limited when it comes to strong gear

You need these skills:

  • Evasion (passive and magical) – 1 point
  • Avoid (passive and magical) – 20 points
  • Escape (passive and magical) – 1 point
  • Critical Strike (Passive and Magical) – 20 points
  • Pierce (passive and magical) – 20 points
  • Pierce (passive and magical) – 20 points
  • Magic arrow – 1 point
  • Cold arrow – 1 point
  • Directed arrow – 20 points
  • Multi-shot – ~ 6 points

Directed arrow is your most important skill against single targets, multiple shots against groups. However, more points in multiple shots are not worthwhile, as this only increases mana costs and the number of arrows.

So only set as many points until you fire about 13 arrows per shot and remember that + skill items can save skill points.

Piercing is the most important skill in the passive skill tree that is responsible for your damage. Because in this way you are guaranteed to break through your opponents with your skills and can only really efficiently deal with groups.

This is how you set the attribute points:

  • Strength – Sufficient to wear appropriate equipment
  • Skill – All remaining points
  • Vitality – No points
  • Focus – no points

The build is extremely fragile with this distribution, which is why you have to be extremely careful that opponents do not reach you. If that is too dangerous for you, you can only invest as many points in skill as you need to carry your items. You then invest the rest in vitality. In doing so, you forego a large amount of damage and take longer to kill opponents.

Which items are important? For Bowazons, the priority is quite easy. You’re taking as much increased attack speed as you can. This is also a problem, because the stat is not necessarily found often on strong items.

The runic word “faith” is therefore particularly important as a weapon. In our guide we show you all rune words and how to build them. With the rest of the equipment you should pay attention to the following attributes:

  • Death blow
  • Life extracted per hit / kill
  • Mana sucked out per hit / kill
  • increased running speed

You should also have a Hellfire Torch in your inventory as this is extremely useful for any build. An offensive mercenary from Act 2 is suitable as a companion, which you stuff with items that emit supporting auras. The companion is only there to strengthen you, he hardly fights himself.

How do I play the build? Basically, the Bowazon plays like a multi-shot demon hunter from Diablo 3. You stay at a distance and destroy large groups of opponents with your multi-shot.

Since you always hit targets, you will also meet opponents in the back row. You use Directed Arrow against individual targets, as this causes a lot more damage than your multiple shot.

It is important that you stand far away. You don’t endure much and you should kill enemies before they reach you – which is why movement speed is an important stat. Only single opponents with a lot of life points that you cannot kill quickly enough or those with immunity to physical damage will be really dangerous to you anyway. Javazon – The game’s fastest boss killer

Pro

  • enormously high DPS on individual targets
  • high AoE damage
  • ideal for pure boss runs
  • popular as a pure DPS character in groups
Against

  • expensive items are necessary for the build to work
  • needs good min-maxing
  • sluggish because quite low magic rate

You need these skills:

  • Passive and magical – 1 point each in:
  • Critical strike
  • Punch through
  • Pierce
  • Inner view
  • Slow bullets
  • decoy
  • Push – 1 point
  • Poison javelin – 1 point
  • Energy Strike – 20 points
  • Lightning strike – 20 points
  • Charged strike – 20 points
  • Chain lightning – 20 points
  • Pestlice skewer – 1 point
  • Flashing Doom – 20 points

Try to get Charged Strike as soon as possible as this skill will be your most important tool against opponents. You fight both individual opponents and smaller groups.

Flashing disaster becomes important later when you face larger hordes. You hardly ever actively use chain lightning and lightning, the skills only serve to strengthen your other skills.

This is how you set the attribute points:

  • Strength – Sufficient to wear appropriate equipment
  • Skill – enough for items or to have 75% block chance (only with shield and only hardcore)
  • Vitality – You put all remaining points in vitality
  • Focus – no points

Which items are important? You absolutely need items for Build 2: the griffin eye (head part) for yourself and the rune word “infinity” for your mercenary. Griffin Eye increases your lightning damage and “Infinity” reduces the opponent’s lightning resistance.

While you have to farm the griffin eye, you can create “infinity”. In our guide we show you all rune words and how to build them. With the rest of the equipment you should pay attention to the following attributes:

  • +Skills
  • Life and mana evacuation
  • Resistances

+ Skill items help you to increase your damage even further. Therefore, try to get yourself a hellfire torch as soon as possible, even if it can be time-consuming at the beginning.

With the Javazon, you have to juggle all the time in order to balance your resistances and your damage. So don’t focus too much on individual stats, but see what you need right now. Javazons are therefore intended for more experienced players. Here you will find the best farm spots if you still have to collect your equipment:

Diablo 2 Resurrected: The best farm spots for magical items

How do I play the build? Basically, the Javazon is quite simple: against individual opponents it uses Charged Strike and against groups of about 6-7 opponents Lightning Doom. Use solo decoy to lure multiple enemies and then kill them.

Important: You can only really play Javazons at higher levels if your mercenary is equipped with “Infinity”.

Due to the ability to reduce lightning resistance, certain opponents are no longer immune to your attacks and take (more) damage. Alternatively, you can use a push against such opponents, but then run the risk of dying from them.

Otherwise you are solely responsible for damage in groups. Just follow your tanks or support and do whatever you want. In the embedded gameplay from Diablo 2 expert Dbrunski you can see the build in action:

These builds are 2 of the most popular play styles for the Amazon in Diablo 2: Resurrected. There are still alternatives that use the iconic Valkyrie skill, for example. It is especially popular in solo play. With the Bowazon and the Javazon, however, you have probably the most powerful options at hand.

Incidentally, in advance there was a major discussion about how the Amazon was implemented in the remaster of Diablo 2:
