DrDisRespect says: He could have saved Twitch competitor Mixer from ruin

Do you remember Microsoft’s Mixer streaming platform? YouTuber DrDisRespect says he almost signed a deal. With him by Mixer’s side, the platform wouldn’t have died, he claims.

What’s the matter? In its broadcast on YouTube, DrDisRespect spoke about the past and the streaming platform Mixer.

“They almost had me, but it just wasn’t enough [Geld]”

The background: Mixer needed good arguments to assert itself on the market against its big competitor TwitchTV. That’s why they bought big names like Ninja and Shroud and hoped to bring their huge community to the new site and their ecosystem. But the plan didn’t work.

In April 2020, TwitchTV was able to increase the number of hours viewed by a whopping 100% compared to the previous year. Mixer, on the other hand, stagnated in the comparison with 0.2% growth. While Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Gaming grew, not much went on at Mixer. Despite their bought stars.

This is what DrDisRespect says: On his stream on Wednesday January 5th, Guy “DrDisRespect” Beahm spoke about the shutdown of Mixer.

“How did Mixer go down? They were literally like Twitch, the same thing. And they had shroud and ninja over there. She almost got me, but it just wasn’t enough [Geld]. ” Then he goes on and explains:

“I’m going to make a statement now. If we’d gone to Mixer, Champs, and I’m talking about you, the Champions Club and Two-Time, Mixer would still be there. I tell you. If we had gone to Mixer, it would have been Twitch versus Mixer ”.

On YouTube, the DrDisRespect channel has 3.69 million subscribers. Since he started streaming on YouTube Gaming after being banned from Twitch, the streamer has been able to build a community there. He could have brought this community to Mixer.

One of Mixer’s big problems was that while you could get big names on exclusive deals, the communities didn’t want to get away from Twitch entirely.

DrDisRespect sounds certain that his followers would have followed him not only to YouTube but also to Mixer and that the platform could have been saved.
