Samsung takes another step to end Tizen and would have closed its application store for its mobiles

The Tizen application store would have closed for all compatible smartphones of the brand, specifically for the Samsung Z line.

It is not a move that should be surprising, because however, since June 2021, South Koreans have already closed the registration for new users in their Tizen mobile store, leaving it only accessible to existing customers so that they could access applications that they had previously downloaded.

But since January 1, 2022, Samsung would have already slammed the final door to the Tizen application store for its compatible phones, and it is that neither the new users nor the existing ones, will be able to access it.

As reported from Tizenhelp, via gsmarena, Samsung’s Tizen app store is no longer accessible to any client, be it new or existing. This would affect those users who are using a Samsung Z series smartphone who would be forced to switch to an Android or iOS device.

This shouldn’t be a headache for these users, given that the last Samsung Z phone to launch was in 2017.

This is one more step to dispense with Tizen, and yet South Koreans are going the same way when it comes to their smartwatches. However, this year’s Galaxy Watch 4 already runs on Google’s WearOS operating system and so will all future Galaxy watches.

In the absence of official confirmation, apparently the service is already closed for all smartphones Samsung Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z4, affecting all countries.
