Popular game ‘Wordle’ fills with clones on the App Store

“Wordle” can be played on the Internet, but hackers have already started releasing their own “versions” for the App Store.

Wordle has become the new favorite game on the internet. If you’ve been up to date, you’ve probably come across this interesting name somewhere on Twitter. The best of all is that Wordle is quite accessible and you don’t need anything too special to be able to play, just a browser, an Internet connection and wanting to have a good time. But as is often the case with everything popular, clones have quickly started popping up everywhere, and Apple has gone to work to eliminate them.

Until now, Wordle has not released an app to the App Store or any other mobile app store. Josh Wardle, creator of the game, has created it to be free and work on the Internet so that anyone can access and play it. However, in recent days the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store have been filled with versions “pirate“of the game, blatantly copying the ideas put forth in Wardle’s game.

Some of these pirated versions even have the audacity to charge up to thirty dollars to access a “Pro” version, taking the game out of a mechanic that is not even his, and it is not known when the fever will stop.

Apple has already started taking action against copies

Although at first it seemed that Apple was going to sit idly by, a new report from MacRumors on its official Twitter account assures us that Apple has already got to work to delete the copies of Wordle, and some of them have already disappeared from the App Store. So you can rest assured, and if you happen to see one, avoid downloading it. IF you want to play Wordle, you just have to go to its official website and play some games from Safari or any browser you use on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
