Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode is to be provided with new content in the long term.

Halo Infinite’s Free2Play multiplayer has been running for two months now and still offers ten multiplayer maps. A decent, but of course also expandable number. Frequent players in particular have now had enough of the available cards and hope for more supplies soon.

There is no question that it will come, after all, the 343 Industries team wants to provide the shooter with new content in the long term. Now five possible new maps have appeared – including names and placeholder images.

Bath Salts and Solitude

This is behind it: Dataminers found the relevant entries and images in the game’s code and published them on Twitter. The following names for the multiplayer maps appear there:

  • Bath Salts
  • Cataract
  • Forbidden
  • Beltway
  • Solitude

Note that the images are work-in-progress shots, which explains the undetailed and rough assets. It will definitely look much better on the finished maps. The names are of course subject to change.

Of course, we can speculate about the structure and special features of the individual maps, our interest was particularly aroused by the map at the top left, because it seems to be located in a kind of mine – at least that’s what the lorry rails suggest. The map with the blue conveyor belt immediately reminds us of the popular elongation map from Halo 2, this may be a revised edition.

Can, but doesn’t have to be

While datamining information means that the entries are in some way related to the game, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the maps will continue to appear for Halo Infinite in the future. They may be cards that were started during development but not completed and were removed from the game. Subsequent completion and publication still seems quite plausible, also because there have rarely been such “dead files” in Halo history.

We’ll probably have to wait a little longer for the new maps to appear. The Cyber Showdown event starts on Tuesday in Halo Infinite multiplayer, including new unlockable armor and cosmetics.
