Netflix increases its rates, for the first time since 2020, in the United States!
This week Netflix has surprised users in the United States with an update that, without a doubt, is not on the list of the most anticipated. As reported on its official site, Netflix has increased its prices in the United States and Canada, between one and two dollars, depending on the type of plan.
the recent rate update from 2020, will apply to new subscribers starting this week. For their part, current subscribers will receive an email 30 days before the price increase takes effect.

Netflix increased its prices in October 2020, making it just over a year since the last significant price increase.
The new monthly Netflix rates are:
- Netflix Basic Plan: increases from $8.99 to $9.99 per month. This option offers subscribers to view content on one screen at any time and does not support HD or 4K streaming.
- Standard plan: increases from $13.99 to $15.49 per month. This plan allows you to view content on two screens simultaneously and offers 1080p content streaming.
- Plan Premium: increases from $17.99 to $19.99 per month. The plan offers 4K streaming and the ability to stream content on four devices at once.
This increase positions Netflix as the one of the most expensive streaming services in the US, next to HBO, whose subscription is 14.99 dollars per month. While other equally popular options like Disney+ cost $7.99 per month, and Apple TV+ monthly subscription is priced at $4.99 per month.
Considering the time that has elapsed since the last increase, it is likely that the increase will also impact other markets, although at the moment the company has not confirmed this possibility.
