All classes of Elden Ring in the overview that we know so far
When you start Elden Ring, there are a few classes to choose from at the beginning. Some of these have already been revealed. MeinMMO summarizes everything about the classes and their attributes for you.
Does the choice of classes matter? Only equipment and initial spec are affected. If it’s like Dark Souls, the choice to launch the game doesn’t matter in the long run. But especially in the first few hours of play, the starting equipment can play a major role in the short term.
Your choice of class will also help you in the medium term to hone in a direction that you prefer. Generally though, you can start with any class and then take your build in whatever direction you want.
How classes work in Elden Ring: Anyone who has played any of developer FromSoftware’s earlier works should feel right at home in Elden Ring. Because in principle they are structured in the same way as the classes from Dark Souls or Bloodborne.
There are also 8 attributes that affect various properties and can be increased through level-ups.
- Vigor (vitality): Vitality affects your life points and affects fire resistance and poison immunity.
- mind Mind affects FP (mana) and focus-related resistance. Important for magic and sorcery builds.
- Endurance: Increases your character’s stamina and also increases physical defense. Especially important for melee fighters, as stamina allows for dodging and blocking.
- Strength: Required to wield heavy weapons. It also increases the attack power of weapons with power scaling and increases the maximum gear load.
- Dexterity: Required to wield advanced weapons. It also increases the attack power of weapons that scale with Agility. Reduces the casting time of spells, mitigates fall damage, and makes it harder to fall off a horse. Increases the casting power of intelligence-scaling spells and improves magic resistance. Also increases how often you can cast spells.
- Faith (faith): Required to perform summons. It also buffs summons that scale with faith.
- Arcane (Arkan): Affects death resistance and certain spells and incantations.
Each class differs from the other in how much the attributes are boosted.
All 5 classes from the Elden Ring network test
We know these classes so far: Thanks to the network test, five of the 10 classes have already been revealed. In the test, participants were able to try them out and reveal their attributes.
Your name is:
- Warrior
- Enchanted Knight
- Prophet
- Champion
- Bloody Wolf
We show you here which attributes they have leveled and what makes them special.
Here are the 5 classes from the network test:
Warrior
The “Warrior” class comes with two Scimitar (scimitars) and is the only class that starts with dual weapons. The Scimitar even has a special ability called “Stormblade.” With it you can fire a kind of air projectile at your enemies.
She also wears light armor. However, without a shield to use to parry, you’ll need to be careful with the class and dodge attacks.
Enchanted Knight
The Enchanted Knight class starts out with a sturdy shield, a spear, and two powerful spells that can deal damage at range.
With increased strength and intelligence, she’s a good starting class for hybrid builds that combine magic and melee.
Prophet
Thanks to the high Faith value, the “Prophet” class has the opportunity to carry out so-called summons. This is a type of magic known in Dark Souls, for example, as a miracle.
The Prophet can summon a healing circle and also has a powerful summon as a weapon with “Beast Claw”. Thanks to a mace, the class can also defend itself in close combat.
Champion
The “Champion” class is also based on Faith and Summons. The class has a special summon called “Dragonfire”. With it you summon a dragon head that breathes fire at your opponents.
This even works from horseback and is powerful against enemy groups.
Bloody Wolf
The “Bloody Wolf” class comes closest to what players should know from Dark Souls. The class wears medium armor, a small shield, and a bastard sword.
She doesn’t rely on any kind of magic or spells, instead relying on melee combat. The armor was also featured prominently in the first Elden Ring trailer.
If you want to see the classes in action, check out the gameplay video uploaded by Fextralife with scenes from the network test:
But here’s a warning: There is a possibility that these classes will look different in the full version. It is at least unlikely that you can use such powerful equipment and spells at the start. At least that wasn’t the case in Dark Souls or Bloodborne.
We don’t know with absolute certainty whether skills, equipment or even the class name will also be the same in the full version. If this is the case, we will of course correct it in the article. We will also add the 5 classes that are still missing.
When is Elden Ring coming? The action RPG with multiplayer in the form of co-op and PvP will be released on February 25th on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4.
In addition to the 10 classes, Elden Ring offers a large open world, weapons, equipment and other things. You can find more information in our overview of Elden Ring: Everything about the action RPG with co-op and PvP – release, gameplay, system requirements
