The biggest streamer on WoW explains why he doesn’t show classic raids on Twitch

WoW streamer Asmongold has no desire to stream raids from WoW: Classic. The amusing reason: too many know-it-alls are out and about.

Even if the streamer turned his back on Asmongold World of Warcraft a while ago, he now keeps checking Blizzard’s MMORPG and is also interested in the rumors about the next expansion, such as “The Dragon Isles”.

However, some viewers wonder why Asmongold hardly brings any content to WoW Classic – especially from the raids, after all, the patch for the Black Temple has just been released in BC Classic. The answer is simple: there are too many know-it-alls.

What did he say? In a stream a few days ago, Asmongold came back to the topic of WoW Classic. When asked why he doesn’t stream classic raids, he gave a very specific answer – there are just too many people who know everything better. Exactly he says:

I think, very fundamentally, that streaming classic WoW raids isn’t that much fun. I believe the community [um die Classic-Raids], I don’t enjoy doing content for . Because everyone thinks they know what they’re talking about. They always have their opinions on what you should be doing right now. It’s just such a hostile community.

I consent to external content being displayed to me. Personal data can be transmitted to third-party platforms. Read more about our privacy policy.

He then expands on that because there’s nothing wrong with streaming this type of content – but given the choice, he decides not to:

I understand if you’re a Classic Andy then you need to stream the game because that’s what you do. But I don’t have to do this. So why should I? Why would I willingly try to do something that is just plain annoying and makes me angry? If you have the option not to do that, why would you do that?

Because he’s in a solid position of being able to choose what content he streams and what he engages in, he’s choosing to do something that the community doesn’t make him enjoy in the first place.

Asmongold is taking it hard himself: For some, the statement is in stark contrast to Asmongold’s own conduct. He recently explained that he silently kicks players if they make mistakes in farm raids. Because that’s just a form of “he knows exactly what the other player is supposed to be doing”.

Farm runs for modern WoW are of course a different matter than progression raids in WoW Classic and BC Classic, but some people draw a parallel here.

Some people find it rather ironic that Asmongold of all people doesn’t want to stream certain content because he doesn’t enjoy the “know-it-alls”.

However, Asmongold is also known for often having fairly unequivocal opinions on certain World of Warcraft issues, even if they sometimes seem at first glance to be at odds with his own behavior.
