Big Twitch streamer babbles, hints at expansion for Diablo 2

A remaster of an old classic, Diablo II: Resurrected is delighting many fans. Actually, as a new edition, it’s already finished. A large streamer has now accidentally spoken of an “Act 6”. But that doesn’t exist (yet).

This is what the streamer says: MrLlamaSC is one of the biggest and most well-known streamers of Diablo II. Among other things, he has made a name for himself as a speed runner and played 4 years for the holy grail in the original Diablo II.

He also played Resurrected and spent a lot of time with the game. He even trained for a World First in Diablo II to be among the first to defeat all bosses.

However, in one of his recent streams on Jan. 23, he let slip something. He answered a spectator’s question about an item: “You want the heroes’ standard to do something? Well, if Act 6…yeah, it would be great if they gave the item anything useful.”

After his slip of the tongue in act 6, he chokes briefly and seems to be considering how to end the sentence. Actually, there are only 5 acts in Diablo 2 including the expansion Lord of Destruction. Shortly after the scene, he ends his stream.

How likely is an extension? It is unlikely that MrLlama meant another act, after all he does not improve. As a big streamer, it’s possible he’s in touch with Blizzard and already knows more.

It is also already known that developer Vicarious Visions wants to bring new content into the game. Some of them can already be seen, such as the new rune words from the first ladder of Resurrected.

However, there is no information about new files from Blizzard or Vicarious Visions. However, should a new act come, then this would probably also be connected to a whole expansion. It was like that with Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.

The expansion would be the first new addon for Diablo II in 21 years. Lord of Destruction was released in 2001.

This is how Diablo 2 Resurrected will continue after the release

Diablo II: Resurrected is set to grow – is there an expansion with a new act?

Blizzard and the developers want to continue working on Diablo II: Resurrected. In a previous interview it was said that games are no longer “closed” on the market. Diablo is a living game, a “live service”.

Whether that means an Act 6 or an expansion is coming, we can’t say though. A new act would also mean a new boss that would have to fit into the Diablo story somehow.

So far we know for sure that new content is coming. Patch 2.4 with the first ladder will be tested on the PTR starting January 25th. This already contains new rune words, new recipes for the Horadric Cube and changes for all classes.

However, we cannot yet say whether the developers will go so far as to bring a new extension. In any case, it is the wish of many fans that Diablo II will continue. The game is more complex than Diablo III, for example, and has its own player base accordingly.

We don’t know yet whether there will be an act 6 – nor when the ladder will start. But we can already introduce you to other hack’n’slays that are scheduled to appear in 2022:
