The spectacular tattooed cars of the Japanese workshop Rohan Izawa

Vinyls are already out of fashion. The most extreme thing in vehicle customization is… tattoos.

Nowadays, tattoos on the skin are so normalized that they no longer attract attention. Like seeing a piercing, or having a cell phone (yes, before there were people who boasted of having a cell phone).

But tattoos on cars, they are a very different thing. We are not talking about the typical vinyls that, making an analogy, would be like the classic children’s decals, or removable tattoos.

the japanese workshop Rohan Izawa Art Design creates authentic tattooed cars, carving spectacular designs on their bodywork. You can see it in this video:

It is a manual job that has a lot of merit, and risk, because all carvings are done freehand, and if the artist makes the slightest mistake, it completely spoils the design.

The idea is from the vehicle customization specialist Takahiko Izawa, which had spent years trying to find a formula to go beyond the classic vinyl records.

Carve directly the bodywork It was ruled out from the beginning, because you ruin the car, it can lose safety, and a minimum fault cannot be fixed.

So Takahiko Izawa has spent years developing a special painting who has baptized with the name of IZ Metal.

Is about a metallic 3D painting which adds an extra layer to the bodywork. Its main characteristic is that does not oxidize or change color with ultraviolet rays.

Is paint IZ Metal is thicker than usual, which allows carve it to create the tattoos on the car.

The great advantage is that with this technique the original body of the vehicle is not damaged, and if something goes wrong, just paint over it to try again.

The paint IZ Metal has been in great demand around the world, and Takahiko Izawa has won numerous international awards with his tattooed cars, like the one you can see in the video.

Receive orders from all over the planet, and customization is total. The client can choose the drawing they want to tattoo, and it can be done on the entire car, or on a door, the front, the headlights, only the rear-view mirrors, etc.

It is even possible tattoo the interior bodywork of the vehicle.

We don’t know the prices because they are unique to each vehicle, but they sure aren’t cheap. Ultimately, we’re talking about a work of art created by hand by the artists of taller Rohan Izawa Art Design.
