Fortnite: What does OG mean?

In Fortnite, many players have heard the term “OG” but are not immediately familiar with it. We on MeinMMO show you the explanation behind this designation.

What does OG mean? “OG” is not a term created in the Fortnite scene. This designation originated in the rap scene and means: original gangster.

But Fortnite is all about the players who have been there from the start. They are the originals, the “old school” players or the original gangsters.

These players played the original Fortnite and also dusted off skins from that time.

So if you’re in a lobby and find yourself with skins like the Rust Master or the Black Knight, you know these are players that have been with us since Chapter 1 Season 1.

What examples are there? Under OG, however, not only certain skins are seen. This could mean weapon camouflages, gliders, dances, and pickaxes that could be collected in the early days, including the following.

• Dark Traveler – Chapter 1 Season 3 – Battle Pass

• Kampfdrache – Chapter 1 Season 2 – Item Shop

Emotes:

However, that was only a small part of the items that count as OG.

Can I get OG items? Many of the items were part of the old “Season Shop” system or a Battle Pass and can therefore no longer be obtained. So you only get selected items like the reaper from the new item shop, provided Epic decides to issue it again.

Another method that can result in a ban, however, is that you may ask a friend or family member for their account. However, we advise against this as “Account Sharing” is prohibited and against Epic Games policies. You do this at your own risk.

Also, avoid buying from shady sites that want to sell you OG accounts. These are mostly hacked accounts that are illegally auctioned off. Some also sell their accounts for hundreds of euros on eBay, but selling your own account is also prohibited.
