Guild Wars 2 Accidentally Leaks Expansion Release Date Itself – Disappointing Fans

Today, February 1st, Guild Wars 2 wanted to announce the release date of the new expansion, End of Dragons. But the video was accidentally released too early. In addition to the messed-up announcement, players are also disappointed with the chosen release date.

What happened to the trailer? Guild Wars 2 is getting the End of Dragons expansion in February. That had been certain since July 2021, but there was no concrete release date for a long time. That was supposed to be announced today at 3:00 p.m.

But the trailer was accidentally put into a playlist too early, was only set to “not listed” and was therefore visible to everyone. The community saved it and published the trailer along with the release date im reddit.

When is the expansion coming out? End of Dragons will be released on February 28, 2022. There is no exact time yet.

But the announced date is not well received by many players.

Fans were hoping for a Friday to gamble the weekend

What is the problem? The last two expansions to Guild Wars 2 were released on October 23, 2015 and September 22, 2017. Both days were Fridays, allowing fans to gamble three days in a row with just one day of vacation, thanks to the weekend.

Many therefore hoped for a release on February 25th. But the wish was not fulfilled.

Many players even see Monday as the worst release time because you have to work all week before you can finally plunge into the game world.

Is the day of the week the only reason for criticism? No, some players are critical of the release on February 28th because it is really the last day of the month in which the expansion is supposed to appear.

They worry that End of Dragons might come out unfinished just to keep the promise with February. Even with Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, one had the feeling that the respective ends of the expansion seemed incomplete and “quickly slapped away”.
