One of England’s greatest talents has been removed from FIFA 22

Mason Greenwood is considered one of the greatest English talents in FIFA 22, but also in real life. On Sunday, the Englishman’s girlfriend published a video in which she accused him of physical abuse. Now Greenwood has been removed from almost all FIFA 22 content.

What is Greenwood accused of? In a video on Instagram on Sunday, Mason Greenwood’s girlfriend showed up with a bleeding wound and multiple bruises on her face. She captioned the post, “For anyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood is doing to me right now.”

The video has since been deleted. Greenwood is said to have been arrested by police the same day on suspicion of assault and rape the mirror reported. At his club Manchester United he was suspended until further notice. The sponsor Nike has also ended the cooperation for the time being.

How does EA react to the allegations? EA has already responded to the allegations with FIFA 22. After a first step, Greenwood is no longer playable in offline modes. It has also been removed from Ultimate Team packs and drafts.

However, players who own Greenwood can still trade with him.

What are the consequences of the change in FIFA 22? Greenwood is one of the big talents in FIFA 22 in the RM/ST positions. He starts there with an age of 19 and a strength of 79. His potential goes up to 90, which is a good value for the market value of 38 million.

Greenwood’s removal from offline mode could have a similar effect to Benjamin Mendy’s removal in September 2021. He was accused of four counts of rape, so EA disabled that player as well.

In Ultimate Team, however, it could still be traded and its price went up because it couldn’t be pulled from new packs.
