WoW: Starting today you can craft the Animal Set – Here’s how

Animal sets in World of Warcraft are extremely powerful – and starting today, you can craft them. We reveal how you use the “Creation Catalyst”.

One of the big features of patch 9.2 in World of Warcraft was the return of tier sets. They grant really strong bonuses and should soon become mandatory for pretty much all classes. But what about players who don’t raid at all or always have bad luck with drops? There is now a remedy for these characters, because the Creation Catalyst has been active since today (04/13/2022)!

What is the Creation Catalyst? The Creation Catalyst allows you to convert items into tier set items of the current tier set from the Mausoleum of the First. The items keep their original item level, but receive the bonuses of the animal sets, the appearance and their secondary values. Socket slots, upgrade status and also tertiary values ​​(such as avoidance or lifesteal) are carried over during the conversion.

You can find the Creation Catalyst in Zereth Mortis. It’s located in a floating complex at coordinates 48 / 88. You can just fly to the catalyst, or you can use the teleporter under the building if you haven’t unlocked flying yet.

Which items can the catalyst convert? Basically a variety of items that you got hold of in the current season of Shadowlands. This includes the following list:

• Items from the Raid Mausoleum of the First
• Items from Mythic+
• Items from PvP
• Items from World Boss Antros (Zereth Mortis)
• Items from trader Rafiq (Zereth Mortis)

Keep in mind, however, that only the 5 main items in the set also grant their 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses, i.e. helmet, shoulder, chest, gloves and pants. All other items do not grant set bonuses, but get a new look to match the animal set – so interesting for transmog collectors.

How expensive is the whole thing? Using the Creation Catalyst costs Cosmic Flux. However, moderately active players should already have an abundance of the resource, so that the costs are negligible. Depending on the equipment slot, the costs vary:

Slots marked with * grant a tier set bonus.

How many times can you use the catalyst? The Catalyst can currently only be used once per week per character. However, the catalytic converter gets a boost every week. For example, if you skip this week, you can use the catalyst twice the following week. So if you want to follow Twinks in a few weeks, you can use the Catalyst several times in a row – as long as the necessary costs can be paid.
