The good news: After CD Projekt RED assured a few days ago that the announced expansions for Cyberpunk 2077 were still in progress, there is now an update on the release period of the first major story DLC. The bad news: We still have to be patient.

DLC Release – When will the first major Cyberpunk 2077 expansion appear?

CDPR’s short answer: Not this year. The Polish developer studio recently announced on Twitter that the planned expansion not until 2023 hits. That emerges from the last financial report of CDPR.

However, there is no specific release date for the extension yet. Details on the expansion are to follow later this year.

More updates planned: In addition, CDPR announces further support for Cyberpunk 2077. So we can look forward to additional updates or patches that will further improve the Night City adventure.

The last major update has the version number 1.5 and brings a number of changes and improvements into play.

What do we already know about the enlargement?

As early as June 2019, CD Projekt announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would receive two major, paid expansions. The DLCs are said to be roughly the size of The Witcher 3 addons Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, meaning we can look forward to really extensive new adventures in Night City. At least if CDPR sticks to this plan.

So far, there is no new concrete information about the promised extensions.
