Elden Ring NPCs without a mask – These are the faces of Sellen, Tanith and Co.

We never get to see Sellen’s face in the game because her head is adorned with a mask.

FromSoftware has a habit of hiding many NPCs behind masks and helmets. As we pursue quest lines with the characters, we never learn what they actually look like. In Elden Ring we also get to deal with some people whose faces remain hidden – but of course not for resourceful modders and dataminers. Videos show us what we don’t see in-game.

Friendly NPCs without a mask

It’s all about this: As soon as we enter the in-between, we are greeted in the open game world of Varré. Not far away we meet the sorceress Sellen in a cellar after a mini boss. Both have in common that they wear masks.

But the NPCs underneath have individually designed faces. Dataminer Zullie the Witch shows them to us and even provides additional information.

This can be seen in the first video: In this video, Zullie presents us with close-ups of the faces of 35 “friendly” NPCs (meaning the ones that don’t attack us right away. They may still have nasty ulterior motives.). Among them are both those whose faces we can recognize quite well in the game, as well as those that remain completely hidden.

Exciting details: When you see Varré, the eye-catching tattoo on his forehead immediately catches your eye. Zullie explains that this is also worn by NPC invaders. It could represent a trident, possibly Mohg’s weapon. Irina and Hyetta also share the same face, as you might have guessed.

For Sellen’s face, on the other hand, there are even two variants. If you complete the Sorceress’ questline, her moves will change a bit – only you’ll never see any of that in the actual game. Here you can see all NPCs:

Faces of enemy NPCs

Zullie dedicated a video to the NPCs that challenge you directly in battle. It contains even more characters. However, you will not remember some of the people shown as well as the NPCs with whom you can complete quests. You may not have met all of them at all.

Exciting details: But you will definitely remember the sorceress Miriam, who can be a tough nut to crack depending on the level, or Anastasia, who wants to get us down again and again.

We also see Vyke and Zullie explaining that he [trotz seiner Verbindung zur Rasenden Flamme] didn’t have a burned body as you might have expected. The video also contains exciting details.
