Animal Crossing: Even Melinda is playing Elden Ring and going through emotional chaos
Elden Ring is a phenomenon. The Souls title not only had an enormously successful launch, but has now become the most successful new IP in Europe since 2016. This is not only due to the many die-hard fans of From Software games, but also due to a whole host of newcomers to Souls who are drawn in by the increased accessibility and gameplay quality.
Also Melinda (or in English Isabelle) from Animal Crossing: New Horizons seems to belong to it. YouTuber Wooden Turtle has at least processed this idea in a video, which not only looks impressive thanks to elaborate Animal Crossing animations, but also shows Melinda from an unusual side.
Melinda fails in Elden Ring and her TV suffers as a result
Frequent dying and the frustration that comes with it are part of the Elden Ring. The relaxed and overly friendly everyday life in Animal Crossing games forms a stark contrast to this. So it’s no wonder that our Animal Crossing sunshine Melinda doesn’t get along with it and throws the shotgun in the grain very quickly after the game starts – or rather the controller into the television:

What to see The video is divided into two parts: first we get to see the “Elden Ring: New Horizons gameplay” on the Nintendo Switch, followed by Melinda’s reaction to it.
Anyone who knows Elden Ring knows that Melinda has only played a few minutes in the video and in the chapel of anticipation she meets the first boss: the transplant scion, which you can take revenge on in the real Elden Ring, by the way. In the Animal Crossing version of Elden Ring, this is embodied by a giant crab with weapons and, how could it be otherwise, turns it into small wood in no time at all – “You Died” flickers across the screen.
Anyone who now thinks that Melinda can handle it well because of her actually happy and patient nature is wrong. Surprised by herself, she not only wakes up by throwing a controller into the television, but also briefly sinks into despair, only to defiantly simply play other games. Well, who doesn’t know it?!
By the way: I (Annika) am also one of those people who, with Elden Ring, is touching a Souls title for the very first time. Unsurprisingly, this is associated with emotional as well as playful ups and downs. So I can understand Melinda’s reaction. But you can find out exactly what I experience in my noob diary (currently three parts):

Pokémon, Zelda, and more Elden Ring crossovers
It is not uncommon for players to link successful games such as Elden Ring and Animal Crossing in some way. Something similar has already happened with other major game series such as Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. These are, for example, Pokémon variants of well-known NPCs as well as opponents or a Ganondorf character.
