Actually, Uncharted 4 has completely completed the series about adventurer Nathan Drake. The standalone part Uncharted: The Lost Legacy still told its own story about fan favorite Chloe, but the franchise has been quiet since 2017, at least in terms of new offshoots. However, a Naughty Dog recruiter has now given a hint that there might be more Uncharted in the future.
Naughty Dog Working on ‘Uncharted Legacy’
The info comes from the LinkedIn page of Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty, who just started as a recruiter at development studio Naughty Dog. in one post Office she explains that she scouts for talent and is probably looking for future teams for both new and old IPs:
[Es ist] something very special to be able to put together future teams not only for new titles but also for the legacy of Uncharted.
Of course, it is not clear whether this really means new Uncharted games. Especially the word legacy [engl. für Erbe] could also refer to the Legacy of Thieves Collection, which has already been released for PS5 and should also come for the PC in the course of 2022. However, it’s unlikely that Naughty Dog will need its own team for the PC release of the Collection, especially with the port being handled by developer Iron Galaxy.
So it’s entirely possible that the team at Naughty Dog will return to the Uncharted series. After all, as The Lost Legacy has shown, it can work well without the hero Nathan. Unlike the first three parts of the series, author Amy Hennig, who left the studio during the development of Uncharted 4, would no longer be on board this time. A return is probably out of the question, after all, Hennig is currently working on a newly announced Star Wars game:

More clues to new Uncharted
There have already been indications in the past that Naughty Dog could be working on new Uncharted content. Industry insider and journalist Jason Schreier recently mentioned in a report that the development team would be working with Bend Studio on a new part. The same report also revealed that Days Gone would not get a sequel, which later turned out to be true, and that a remake of The Last of Us was in the works. The latter has not yet been confirmed, but there are always indications that even point to a release in 2022.
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has also given fans hope for a new Uncharted in the past, but remained vague. At least it is already known that Naughty Dog is currently working on a new single player game. What else the studio could be working on and which projects are most likely, we have compiled for you in our large rumor collection.
What would you like from a new Uncharted? Should it be Nathan Drake for you or another main character?
