WoW Dragonflight: The alpha starts earlier than expected, is already on the servers

The first Alpha of Dragonflight is probably in the starting blocks. World of Warcraft version 10.0 has already surfaced.

When the next expansion to World of Warcraft was presented a few days ago, many believed that Dragonflight was a long time coming. After all, there was only a little gameplay to see and that was mostly a sign that the development is not far advanced.

However, this could have been a mistake. Because the Alpha of Dragonflight is already in the starting blocks.

What happened? The colleagues from wowhead have noticed a change on the various servers. The internal “wowdev server” has been updated with a new version of World of Warcraft. The version changed from 9.2.5 to 10.0 – this is the version number for the upcoming Dragonflight expansion.

Although the server and the data on it are still encrypted, so that data mining is not possible, the updating of the server alone indicates that the alpha test for Dragonflight will probably start soon.

When exactly does it start? There is no specific date for the start of the alpha yet. If Blizzard sticks to the process of previous expansions, then there is first a “Friends & Family” alpha, where the families and close friends of the developers can get a taste of it. However, this phase usually does not last long and streamers and press representatives are invited shortly afterwards, before the usual players are invited in waves.

As soon as Dragonflight is playable in any version, we will of course report about it.
