CoD Warzone: Season 3 is online – 40GB update brings new sniper meta and many map changes

The new Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone is online. The fat 40GB update comes with many map changes on Caldera, lootable perks, massive balance adjustments and new weapons. MeinMMO shows you the highlights of the patch notes.

The new Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone is called “Classified Arms” and is all about huge monsters. Because later in the season, an event starts with Godzilla and King Kong.

But already at the start of the season things are going well and many changes come into play via a massive 40GB update:

How big is the update? The update turns out to be quite large on all platforms:

• PlayStation 5: 43.2GB
• PlayStation 4: 43.2GB
• Xbox Series X/S: 40.9GB
• Xbox One: 40.9GB
• PC: 38.3GB – Warzone only
• PC: 98.3 GB – with CoD MW

The update is big enough to relieve you from the back. After the patch, Warzone should eat less memory than before.

What does the new content look like? We briefly list the most important new content for you:

• Gulag “Hold”
  • Symmetrical map in a ship
• Location “Dig Site”
  • There’s a new location to the west between Mines and Ruins – you’ll find giant skeletons at Dig Site
• Reworked locations
  • The POIs Runway, Lagoon and Peak have been extensively revised
• Contract “Sabotage”
  • You should destroy a certain vehicle on the map and get an armored truck for it
• Lootable Perks
  • You can now find a selection of non-meta perks in crates. There is only one lootable perk active at a time, which works in tandem with your loadout perks
• 2 new weapons
• Iron Trails on Caldera
  • The Battle Royale with tightened rules is online right from the start

Later in the season, the big event “Operation: Monarch” starts and a new in-match event comes into play: loot zones. In the zones there is then better loot for a short time.

What adjustments have been made to balancing? The balance adjustments for Season 3 are very extensive. The changes to the sniper rifles are particularly exciting.

Smaller and faster sniper rifles like the Kar 98k from CoD MW or the Schweizer K31 from Cold War no longer have an infinite range for one-shot kills. You only put down enemies with headshots in the first damage area. This is what the list looks like now:

There were also a lot of adjustments to the range and values ​​of the sniper rifles. This is sure to shake up the weapon meta on the sniper rifles.

What is it with the Godzilla event? It is not yet known exactly what is behind it. So far it looks like King Kong and Godzilla are going to haunt Caldera in a limited time mode. The event starts on May 11th at 6 p.m.
