New, sweet Kickstarter project has started – combines the best of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing

PuffPals Island Skies is a new Kickstarter project that has already raised over €1 million. It is reminiscent of a mix of the cult games Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley. MeinMMO introduces you to the cute project.

What kind of game is this? In PuffPals Island Skies you are on a construct of floating islands, each housing different biomes, creatures and structures. Everything is rendered in cute cartoon graphics that are somewhat reminiscent of the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

On the islands you can build your own small farm, grow and harvest a wide variety of plants. However, you do not live alone on the floating construct, but many different small animals are also at home there.

In addition to that, you can explore the colorful islands, collect different things, furnish your house and even play together in multiplayer.

Tasks, goals and cute button-eyed animals

What can you do in the game? As known from cute simulation games, you simply live on the islands and collect money to further expand your house and farm, similar to Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon.

The Animal Crossing aspect is particularly evident in the little animals, the PuffPals. You can talk to them, complete quests for them and play mini-games with them. All of this leads to the fact that you continue to deepen your friendship with the respective PuffPal and eventually become their best friends.

However, the animals not only come in the usual animal form, but can also look like fruit or vegetables. All PuffPals have a unique personality, so you won’t have the same conversations with them over and over again.

Furthermore, you can not only make PuffPals your friends, but also pursue these activities:

• fishing
• Cook
• arcade games
• Collect artifacts, mushrooms, special stones and more

Many options for customization – for you and your house

How far does the customization go? You can design both your game character and your house completely yourself. To what extent you can decorate your own farm is not yet known.

How about the game character? You can choose from different presets, adjust your hairstyle, eyes and skin color. There is also a variety of clothes with which you can present yourself individually.

How can you design your house? The design of the house is similar to Animal Crossing or Sims. You have the opportunity to freely choose the facade as well as the interior.

You can place the furniture and decorations in the rooms of your house as you wish.

How is the Kickstarter project going?

Great! Almost 1.1 million euros have been collected so far and the campaign will run until May 5th. If you are interested, you still have time to support the project as well (via Kickstarter.com).

If you invest 29 euros, you even get alpha access to the game. The test phase is scheduled to start in 2023. Alpha access, however, is limited to PC users only.

In addition, exciting goals such as the Nintendo Switch release or multiplayer have already been unlocked. So you can also discover the world of PuffPals Island Skies with other people.

The next goals include the feature that you can manage your own shop and that the community thinks up its own biome for a flying island. However, these features would only appear after the final release in 2025.

If all goes according to Fluffnest developers’ plan, PuffPals Island Skies will be released in 2025 as a digital-only version for the Nintendo Switch, PC on Steam, Android and iOS.
